After arriving in Kathamndu there is 2 days to settle in then is a short flight to Pokhara - the starting place of many treks to the Annapurna. The trek starts proper at the road head of Besi Sahar where we follow the Marshyangdi River through the rice fields before entering the rise of the Annapurna peaks on the left and the Manaslu on the right. As we continue on the valley becomes narrow with frequent spectacular water falls and the scenery becomes more rugged. The route takes us through Tibetan villages whose many walls and prayer flags indicate the Buddhist culture that exits here. There are spectacular views of the Annapurna 11 and 111 and Gangapurna. As we continue on towards Manang we rest in this village for a day to acclimatize before attempting Thorong La Pass. This pass is the link between the Marshyangdi and the Kali Ghandaki Valleys. On reaching the top of the pass you will take in the views to die for of the majestic peaks that lie all around you. We then begin to descend to Muktinath and the famous Muktinath temple time is given to explore and take in the surround of this holy temple. We continue on downwards and enter the world’s deepest gorge just below Jomsom. This valley cuts between the Annapurnas and Dhaulagiri. From Jomsom we trace the path that many take on the Pokhara to Jomsom trek. passing through Tatopani (hot spings), Gorepani, with an excursion to Poon Hill, then on down to Ghandruk, Dhampu then Dhampus Phedi where we are picked up for our transfer to Pokhara and a well earned rest before the flight to Kathmandu next day. Two more nights in Kathmandu are provided for you explore this vibrant city before your transfer to the airport and home.
