Starting with two days in Kathmandu at the beginning and two days after the trek gives you ample time for experiencing this cosmopolitan city with its markets and numerous restaurants.
A short flight from Kathmandu to the small city of Pokhara brings us to the start point of our trek. After overnight stay here in Pokhara we transfer to New Bridge to start our trek then it is on via Birethanti to Hille and Gorepani. This trail takes us into the Kali Ghandaki Valley with its majestic sides that seem to go on forever upwards. In Gorepani we will rise early to take a walk to Poon Hill to watch the sunrise over the Annapurna range (you will see all of the main peaks). After breakfast we press on to Tatopnai (hot springs). Along the trail we will pass through Thakali villages which will give you an insight into the local culture of these people. Next we aim for Ghasa a Thakali village up the valley from Chitre we pass by a spectacular waterfall of Rupse Khola just before Chitre. Next we walk through a beautiful forest on our way to and after two stream crossings and villages along the way we come to Tukuche. Tomorrow we will set out early to avoid the wind that frequents this area and begins late morning. The village of Mapha lies ahead and there are some important monasteries at the south end of the village. We cross a couple of more rivers and head on to Jomsom. After an overnight stay next day we set out for Muktinath this village is one of the most popular pilgrimage destinations for Buddhists as wellas Hindus. The Muktinath Temple is located just to the side of Muktinath village is well worth the visit.
If you want to a see mountain peaks and experience a variety of cultures then this trek provides all of that. You will cross rivers climb steep staircases but the rewards you get far out way the any difficulty encountered. After overnight in Muktinath we return to Kagbeni and then back to Jomsom where we join out flight to Pokhara and a hot bath and 3 star hotel. Next day we fly Pokhara to Kathmandu and a couple of days for exploring before your flight home.
