Your Itinerary:
Days 1-2 Johannesburg, South Africa to Kruger National Park
From Johannesburg International Airport (Borton Overseas will assist you with any pre-tour nights and extensions), you’ll be met and assisted onto your light aircraft transfer to Ngala Game Lodge. Meaning ‘lion’ in Shangaan, Ngala was the first private safari reserve to be incorporated in the world-famous Kruger National Park – the largest wildlife sanctuary in South Africa. With exclusive traversing rights over 36,000 acres of Kruger's game-rich wilderness, Ngala offers an extraordinary African wildlife safari experience. Activities include game drives in open 4WD vehicles and nature walks accompanied by experienced armed trackers. Ngala Game Lodge – chalet cottages (BLD)
Days 3-6 Kruger to Beaches of Mozambique
Depart Ngala Game Lodge by light aircraft to the Kruger Mpumalanga Airport in time for a scheduled flight to Vilanculos, Mozambique (Mozambique flight cost not included) after clearing customs and immigration at Vilanculos Airport; you are transferred to your lodge for a relaxing stay in paradise. Benguerra Lodge – Bungalow (BD)
The Lodge is small and intimate and offers genuine hospitality, personalized service and an intimate knowledge of the natural environment. It has a rich East African/Arabic feel – evinced in both the décor, and the unique and delectable food. The rooms all merge naturally into the surrounding forest and are only moments from the gorgeous silver-white beach of Benguerra Bay. Benguerra is the second largest island in the Bazaruto Archipelago, which broke away from the mainland thousands of years ago. It is famous for its unspoiled white beaches, remarkable dive sites and excellent fishing (subject to a strict “catch & release” policy). Some of the best scuba diving and snorkeling in the world is available off Benguerra’s shores with the surrounding coral reefs rich in sea life.
There are four different kinds of accommodation at Benguerra – each with their unique characteristics and attractions: 2-Bungalows, 2-Cabanas, 10-Casitas and 1-Villa For this package, price is based staying in a Bungalow. The Bungalows are designed to optimize the beautiful island experience. They have no windows or doors and the sea breeze moves quietly and freely through all the rooms. Blinds are hung on the windows and can be drawn for enhanced privacy. All Bungalows have overhead fans, ensuite bathrooms with showers, and mosquito nets over the beds. There are 2 Bungalows in total. Each has a sea-view and is no more than 15m from the beach.
Day 7 Vilanculos - Depart
After a leisurely breakfast you are transferred by road and boat to Vilanculos Airport for your onward arrangements. Borton Overseas can assist you with all flights and extensions. (B)
