Interlaken and its environs are in the center of Switzerland and the Bernese Oberland winter sports region. Located between lakes Thun and Brienze at the foot of mighty Eiger, Monch & Jungfrau it is the classic Swiss ski & sightseeing tour. Skiers on this year’s tour will experience different slopes and resorts each day with a decent between 6 & 12 kilometers.
Grindelwald, Wengen, Muren, Meiringen-Hasliberg & Gstaad are all on our schedule of fun for this week. Most of these resorts are reached daily with our ski or if you prefer at your own pace with the mountain rail system. Non skiers can reach most high mountain restaurants to join the group each day and enjoy all the same vistas such as the highest rail point in Europe the Jungraujoch referred to as “The Top Of Europe”.
Two centrally located hotels have been selected in Interlaken offering the price range and creature comforts you desire. The Chalet Oberland is a 3 star hotel with its high standard of comfort has spacious twin bed rooms with bath, cable TV, radio/alarm, phone safe and modern bathrooms with tub/shower and hairdryers. The hotel has a rustic “Chalet” style restaurant, Italian restaurant and Indian specially restaurant with 2 bars, various shops and boutiques.
The Hotel Du Nord is a 5th generation family operated cozy 4 star hotel with a few more amenities, comfortably furnished rooms with bath/shower, toilet, hairdryer, cable TV, radio, safe, direct dial ISDN phone and minifridge. The hotel offers guests free use of the nearby relaxation Spa-Centre and free entrance ticket for the casino with a welcome drink. Breakfast will be daily at your hotel along with dinner the first evening and last evening of your trip. One group dinner and Swiss folk show evening will be hosted in the Interlaken Casino as a special evening. You will be pleased with any hotel and what Interlaken has to offer!
This year’s tour is truly a Ski Safari using the yellow Swiss postal system coaches for our transfers to various winter sport & sightseeing destinations. The casual or non skier will find plenty to do in Gstaad. You can use the famous Palace Hotel spa and join the skiers at the Saanerslochgrat mountain restaurant and skiers will have 250 kilometers of slopes with 63 lifts to ski for the day. At Meiringen-Hasliberg you will be amazed at the beauty of the landscapes linking the impressive Alpine passes of Grimsel, Susten and Brunig with the turquoise waters of Lake Brienz. Special ski patrol related events are being planned.
Tour Extension Possibilities:
Zermatt Extension - $839 per person. Zermatt extended week is very popular this year and we have space blocked for 30 participants at the Hotel Garni Elite centrally located in the resort with breakfast daily & transfers Interlaken/Zermatt/Geneva.
Paris Extension - $559 per person. Paris extended 4 night package including transfers to Hotel Le Minerve, breakfast daily, half day hosted sightseeing and transfers to the aiport for flights home as group of 20 or more.
