Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Jogyakarta - Shadow Puppet Show
After your arrival at Adi Sucipto Airport transfer directly to your hotel. Then you will begin an interesting tour to Kota Gede, centre of silverworks, to a batik home industry, to Kasongan (popularly known for its artistic pottery and earthenware) and to Gedhongkiwo to see a leather puppet show spoken in old Javanese and translated by the guide. The show has its own meaning of arts, life style, traditions and jokes.
Day 2: Jogyakarta - City tour and Borobudur
Breakfast at hotel. An interesting visit to the 1755-era Sultan Palace, still the bulwark of Javanese culture and tradition. Then proceed to Borobudur temple, built in the 9th. century. Nearby are Mendut and Pawon Temples. Lunch at a local restaurant.
Day 3: Jogyakarta - Solo - Prambanan Tour
Breakfast at your hotel. A nice drive to Solo, the sister city of Jogyakarta, will bring you to Susuhunan and Mangkunegaran Palace. See the heirlooms of traditions inherited from the old Javanese Kingdom Majapahit. Then proceed to Pasar Klewer, Java's well known textile market and flea market. On the return to Jogyakarta, you will stop at the beautiful Hindu temple, Prambanan.
Day 4: Jogyakarta - Dieng Tour
Breakfast at your hotel. Starting early in the morning, we will drive northwest of Jogyakarta passing through green terraced rice fields, waving coconut leaves and lovely mountain scenery. Stop at Hindu temples built in the 8th century on the Dieng Plateau. Then to Kawah Sikidang to see the bubbling mud and the colorful lake Telaga Warna (colored lake). The turquoise colors in the lake are the result of bubbling sulphur deposits on the shores. Lunch will be served at Wonosobo.
Day 5: Jogyakarta - Departure. Breakfast at your hotel. The rest of the day is free until your transfer to the airport for your next destination.
