The trek starts at Lukla (2805m) with an easy walk to Phakding. The trail to Everest base camp gradually ascends to Namchebazar (3445m). After an overnight stay at Namche the trail descend to the Dudh Koshi river and make steep ascend to Thyangbohce (3866m). The trail from the monastery gradually descends to the river and continues to the open valley at Dingboche (4299m). Retrace the trail back to Lukla. The highlight of the short trek is sherpa culture and very close to high mountain.
Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu, tranfer to hotel, In Kathmandu
Day 02: Lukla. Phakding. - 3 hours walk
Fly to Lukla in the morning. Depart Kathmandu at 7 am. Arrive Lukla at 8am. After lunch at Lukla walk to Phakding.
Day 03: Namche Bazar (3445m) - 6 hours walk
The trail follows Dudh Koshi river. After Jorsale the trail makes steep winding path to Namche bazar. Namchebazar is a commercial center of Khumbu region. It is an important stop for trekkers and mountaineers on way to base camps of Everest and many other mountains in that area. It is home of Sherpa ethnic group. Their traditional occupation used to be yak herders and traders. Now due to change in geopolitical condition they have changed their occupation to tourism. They are well known as trekking and mountaineering guides and widely used as high altitude porters by expedition teams. Their religion is Buddhist.
Day 04: Thyangboche (3871m) - 6 hours walk
Descend to Punki Thanka. It is an easy down hill walk about 3 hours to Imja khola (river). After lunch walk slowly the steep hill to the ridge top at Thyangboche. The Monastery at Thyangboche is as famous as Namchebazar. It is situated in a beautiful background of Amadablam. Thamaserku and Mt. Everest can be seen from this point. Like Namche it is another must place for tourist to stop. The monastery is a spiritual and cultural center of the region. Visit the monastery and the surrounding area.
Day 05: Dingboche (4298m)-6 hours walk
Walk through the rhododendron forest. Make steady descend to the river and follow it very much on a level path to Pheriche. There is a high altitude aid post at Pheriche. It is staffed by voluntary doctors from western countries.
Day 06: Thyangboche. 5 hour walk
Trek back to Thyangboche
Day 07: Namche Bazar - 6 hour walk
Retrace the trail back to Namche Bazar.
Day 08: Lukla. 7 hours walk
Retrace the trail back to Lukla. Overnight at Lukla
Day 09: Kathmandu.
Fly back to kathmandu, tranfser to hotel
Day 10: Transfer to airport, depart Kathmandu
