The trek follow the ridge with intricately terraced mustered fields, groves of citrus, bananas, rhododendron and oak forest. There are small villages along the trail; these villages have remarkable ethnic diversity akin to Nepal. Most of the villages are inhabited by Brahmin, Chettri, Gurung and Magar. Gurung and Magar are famous for their combat skill shown in both world wars.
This trek is popularly known as Royal Trek because Prince Charles did his first trek in Nepal in this area.
The trek starts from Kalikathan (1372m) near Pokhara. You walk through Shyaklung (1734m) village and Chisopani danda (ridge). Trek ends at Begnas-tal (lake), about 10km from Pokhara. You pass through small villages that have remarkable ethnic diversity of Nepal. Highest elevation gain on the trek is 1830 meter.
An overnight stay in Pokhara is necessary either in the beginning or at the end of the trek. The best part of the trek is there are no tea houses and it is away from the crowded trail. This trek starts and end in Pokhara.

04. Begnastal (lake)- Overnight in Pokhara or drive back to Kathmandu
