The Jewish heritage in Poland is immense and it is difficult to encapsulate it in one single itinerary. We especially want to show you the positive Jewish sights: the beautiful villas in Lodz, the lovely towns like Kazimierz Dolny and Lublin and the remains of the shtetl settlements in eastern Poland. Visits to the sites connected with the Shoah (Auschwitz, Majdanek) are also covered, but they are offered as an optional programme.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1 – Warsaw:

We will meet at your Warsaw hotel lobby in the early evening and have a delicious dinner.

Day 2 – Warsaw:

In the morning, we plan a thorough visit to Warsaw, especially the places connected with Jewish culture. We will see the former Jewish ghetto, the Nozyk Synagogue, the Korczak Orphanage, Umschlagplatz and the Jewish Theatre. A private evening Chopin concert is also included.

Day 3 – Lodz:

Following breakfast, we will head for Lodz;, a very intriguing post-industrial city with interesting sights reminiscent of Jewish, Polish, German and Russian history. There is also the biggest Jewish cemetery in Europe. Dinner will be served at the Inheritors's Club, one of the best restaurants in Lodz;.

Day 4 - Czestochowa, Auschwitz, Krakow:

At Czestochowa's monastery, you will see the most important Polish icon, the Black Madonna. Our next stop will be the most notorious place of genocide in the world, Auschwitz-Birkenau. We will spend approximately 4 hours there and then continue towards Kraków.

Day 5 - Saturday In Krakow:

The most exciting Polish city - Krakow. A day free for meditation, walking around, shopping or visiting galleries. An optional tour of the Royal Castle (or Wieliczka) can be arranged. Finally, a delightful horse-drawn carriage ride around the Old Town.

Day 6 - Krakow & Plaszow Areas:

Just after breakfast, we will start exploring the former capital of Poland, including the Old, Tempel, and Remuh Synagogues as well as the Remuh Cemetery. In the afternoon, we will visit Plaszow, once a concentration camp area known also for Oscar Schindler's factory. We will end the day with dinner in a Jewish-themed restaurant and enjoy a concert of traditional klezmer music.

Day 7 - Galician Impressions:

We will start our sightseeing route from Zalipie, nicknamed "the painted village". We will make a short stop in the old Tarnów and then head for Bobowa, once the seat of the "Bobover Rebbe" court and the famous Bobov Hasidic dynasty controlled by the Halberstam family. We will then continue to Sanok for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 8 - Galician Impressions II:

Our first point will be the biggest open-air museum of Polish countryside (Sanok). Then you will have an opportunity to see the Lancut Synagogue, possibly the most beautiful synagogue in Poland, and to admire wonderful Lancut Palace. We will spend the night in Zamosc;, a pearl of Renaissance architecture.

Day 9 - Lublin, Majdanek:

We will leave Zamosc; early morning, so that we have more time for visiting Lublin. A local guide will show you the castle with its unique Byzantium-style chapel, the Old Town area, and the Majdanek Holocaust Memorial.

Day 10 - Kazimierz Dolny, Return To Warsaw:

Before arriving in Warsaw (at approximately 17:00), we will visit the charming market square in Kazimierz Dolny, and fully explore this fascinating little town.
