The Czech Republic has for a long time now been reconigised as the Central European centre for Horse Racing with internationally recognised events such as the infamously dangerous Velka Pardubice which takes place on the second weekend in October, where you will find many famous jockies and horses competing in the Pardubice Cross Country Steep Chase, to the smaller local race meets such as the Velke Chuchle, a 2180m long track, which hosts all manner of flat races including the Czech Derby, the Czech 2000 Guineas and the St. Leger, which takes place in Prague every weekend from April to October, with a break in July.
