Skiing in the Mt Cook Ski Region with Southern Alps Guiding is the ultimate adventure. Tasman Glacier Skiing with Southern Alps Guiding is now in it's 14th year of operation and continues to deliver a professional high quality service to our customers. Skiing on the glaciers of New Zealand is truly a unique experience and more and more people are wanting to enjoy this world of breathtaking beauty.
This has got to be one of the finest skiing days you will ever experience. The day starts with one of three ski plane flights into the head of the Tasman Glacier. Surrounded by New Zealand's spectacular Southern Alps, we take the 10-12km scenic ski run down the Tasman, exploring and venturing into ice caves and glacial canyons. At the end of this long ski run we fly to the head of the Murchison Glacier. The Murchison is located in one of the most pristine alpine areas of the world and we are fortunate to be able to ski 8-10km in this special place. The day finishes with your third scenic ski plane flight back to Mt Cook Airport. Truly, the ultimate day skiing and exploring in a winter paradise. Access into the Murchison Glacier can only be accessed in certain conditions so if this run is not possible we will do the two run Tasman Glacier trip.
