LHASA: The capital of Tibet, at an altitude of 3650m, is situated on the north of bank of Kyichu River, a tributary of the Yarlung Tsangpo river. Lhasa in Tibetan means " Place of the Gods" and Potala Palace, the Residence of Dalai Lama ( The God King), is the earthly representation of the celestial Palace of Avaloketeswora, The Buddha of infinite compassion whose incarnation in the human form is believed to be the Dalai Lama. This fly-in/ fly-out tour of the heart of Tibet follows a circular route from Tsetang to Lhasa, exploring the Yarlung Tsangpo valley, craddle of the Tibetan civilization. We begin our journey exploring the Yarlung Tsangpo valley with a ferry ride across the Tsangpo river to visit Samye, the oldest monastery to the Red Hat School. Then, on to Yongbulakhang, the first castle build for Tibetan King overlooking a fertile agricultural valley and tombs of the Tibetan kings, from the seventh centuary; and then proceeding on the southern route via the Yamdroktso, the turquoise lake, to Gyantse and Shigatse we take the northern route through the scenic, rugged countryside of nomads, culminating our journey in the comforts of Himalaya Hotel, Lhasa
ITINERARY:
Day 01 Arrive Gongar. Airport Transfer to Lhasa. Check in to Hotel
Day 02 Guided tour of Jokhang Temple, Barkhor market & Drepung and Sera, the Monastic University, Tibetan Medical Center
Day 03 Guided tour of Potala Winter Palace and Norbulnka the Summer Palace of Dalai Lama and Traditional Tibetan Tent Factory.
Day 04 Drive Via New road to Shegatse Visit Tashilumbo Monastery the seat of Panchen Lama and free market, Shegatse Hotel.
Day 05 After breakfast, drive via Shalu to Gyantse. Visit Kumbom stupa Palcho Monastery and Old Castle Gyantse Hotel.
Day 06 Drive to Via Yamdrok Lake to Tsedang. Visit Yarlung Valley.
Day 07 Guided tour of Samye, the oldest Monastery belonging to Red Hat School and Yumbulakhang the first castle, Tsedang Hotel.
Day 08 Early Morning Departure to Gongar Airport to connect the flight to Kathmandu/Chengdu/Beijing /Xian/Shanghai.
