Lhasa in Tibetan means " Place of the Gods" and Potala Palace, the Residence of Dalai Lama ( The God King), is the earthly representation of the celestial Palace of Avaloketeswora, The Buddha of infinite compassion whose incarnation in the human form is believed to be the Dalai Lama. It is a city truly blessed by the gods where life is unburried.
The grand traverse of the mighty river gorges, including Gyarong, Yalong, Yangtze, Mekong, Salween and Bramhapura encompasses the length and breath of Kham, Derge, Chamdo, Tengchen, Bachen, Nagchu and Lhasa. We start great overland adventure from Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province and a city of great vitality and great atmosphere, through eastern Tibet to Lhasa and to Yaan. The flat landscape gives way to undulating foot hills, to Kangding, the former capital of Chakla Kingdom and a tea distribution center, through Tawu to Gerge, and up to and across Jape-la at an elevation of 4,680 metres to Chamdo, gateway to Lhasa.
