LHASA: The capital of Tibet, at an altitude of 3650m, is situated on the north of bank of Kyichu River, a tributary of the Yarlung Tsangpo river. Lhasa in Tibetan means " Place of the Gods" and Potala Palace, the Residence of Dalai Lama ( The God King), is the earthly representation of the celestial Palace of Avaloketeswora, The Buddha of infinite compassion whose incarnation in the human form is believed to be the Dalai Lama. It is a city truly blessed by the gods where life is unburried.
We first fly to Lhasa, then drive to Shigatse, and then to Mt. Kailash and Lake Mansarovar through the Tibet Plateau westward. Driving across the Chang-Tang Plain we follow the trails of ancient Salt caravan route. We visit Tholing and Tsaprang and the ruins of the Guge Kingdom in western Tibet. at the foot of Mt. Kailash, we will perform the ancient rite of circumambulating known as "Parikrama" a full circuit of the peak. We then visit Lake Mansarovar and traveling southward to Kharsa and then to Kathmandu.
An optional trip to the Silk Road takes 6 days or more. It starts at Tsaprang, passes through Shichenhe and Xingjiang and ends at the Pakistan border on the Karakoram Highway. We then arrive in Kashgar just in time for the well-known Kashgar "Sunday Market".

Day 17 Visit Chewo Gompa and rest for the aftenoon. O/n Camp.
Day 18 Drive from Manasarova to Paryang.Over Night Camp.
Day 19 Drive from Paryang to Zhongba. Over Night Camp.
Day 20 Drive from Zhongba to Pegu Tso.Over Night Camp.
Day 21 Drive from Pegu Tso to Nyalum. Over Night Hotel.
Day 22 Drive to Friendship and continue to Kathmandu.
