You'll visit the forum, remains of public baths and private houses, Roman roads with visible chariot tracks and the ancient Basilica which hosts stunning Byzantine frescoes and one of the largest and most spectacular early-Christian mosaic floors of the West! Lunch in a typical agriturismo of the area with appetizers and samplings of local delicacies such as salami, San Daniele ham, Montasio cheese and a typical Friulian dessert.
In the afternoon you will visit a leading estate of the Aquileia D.O.C wine area producing award winning red and white wines. You'll meet the winemaker, share his knowledge about the wine-making process and take a tour of the plant and cellars before enjoying the taste of a good vintage and eventually bring a few bottles home!
