Day 1:
We pick you up at the airport in our van. You meet your guide and driver, and spend the night at Hotel Bougainvillea in Santo Domingo de Heredia. Paved paths allow you to enjoy the hotel's lush gardens.

Day 2:
Visit Costa Rica's National Biodiversity Institute, where scientists are taking an inventory of the country's plants and animals. An easily accessible park at the institutes offers examples of the four types of forest found in Costa Rica. Spend the night at Centro Neotropico Sarapiqui, which has an eco-lodge designed to resemble a pre-Columbian village and an accessible outdoor museum exploring the lives of pre-Columbian Indians who lived in the area.

Day 3:
Go wheelchair hiking at La Selva, field station and rainforest research center operated by a consortium of U.S. and Costa Rican universities. From the smooth paths in the forest, you may see monkeys and many species of birds. Spend the night at Centro Neotropico Sarapiqui.

Day 4:
Glide through the jungle canopy on the Rainforest Aerial Tram Through ski lift technology adapted to the forest, the tram allows people of all ages and nobilities to explore the forest from its floor to treetops. Overnight at Hotel Bougainvillea.

Day 5:
Spend the day at the artisan community of Sarchi, where you can see craftsmen making and painting furniture, traditional Costa Rican oxcarts and other wooden and leather goods. Shop to your hearts` content at the family-owned shops and cooperatives. Spend the night at Villa Lapas, an eco-lodge beside the Tarcoles River.

Day 6:
Cruise the Tarcoles River by boat. You will see an incredible array of water birds, and might see a crocodile. Spend the night at Villa Lapas.

Day 7:
We take you to Juan Santamaria International Airport, where you catch your flight home.
