The Sella massif should be considered the focal point of the Dolomites: steep towers and rock Walls. Around the Passo di Sella are wonderful, well established climbing routes up to classic Dolomite peaks, rocks to exercise and sport climbing trips, just near a lovely mountain inn, where our basis is. Climbing goals and peaks. At the Passo di Sella: climbing-routes at the Sella Towers, Forc, Cinque Dite, Piz Ciavatzes. Other goals are reachable by short transfers and include tours to neighboring Dolomite ranges such as Le Odle, Catinaccio, Falzarego Towers, Sasso delle Streghe and Cinque Torri.
Your Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival. You meet your guide at the mountain inn Friedrich August and alter a short briefing of the procedure of the week, he will check your equipment and distribution of missing equipment.
Day 2: First steps in rock Walls, safety-techniques, tying knots, basic climbing techniques at the training rock Walls, study of equipment.
Day 3: First climbs in a "via ferrata" and learning its techniques such as wall, rift and chimney climbing; afterwards an training Walls you get taught the most important features of climbing security-techniques and abseiling.
Day 4: First climbing tour with rope, setting climbing basics, abseiling, meteorological observation, tour planning.
Day 5: Climbing with rope, climbing downwards, orientation.
Day 6: A longer climbing tour. Final dinner with your guide.
Day 7: Departure. After breakfast the tour is at its end.
Note: Changes of the program are left up to the mountain-walking leader.
