If you feel confident enough and enjoy the freedom of discovering You rent a car from the airport or the train station, and we organize your program of vineyards visits, and arrange bookings at our favorite restaurants for lunch & dinner of the region.
We will of course provide you with maps of the region & driving directions. From experience, we recommend this alternative, especially if you can speak and understand some French. As we do not make commissions on your reservations, the fee is to cover our time & communications expenses as well as the tasting/entrance fees at the chateaux. Our self drive tour program is reserved for our guests staying at Chateau Meyre.
Your Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Chateau Meyre in early afternoon. Visit of a classified vineyard in the St Julien or St. Estephe appellation (visit either Chateau Leoville Barton, Beychevelle, Leoville Poyferre or Cos 'dEstournel). Dinner in a small restaurant in Margaux.
Day 2: In the morning, visit of a classified vineyard in the Pauillac appellation (visit either Chateau Mouton Rothschild, Chateau Lafite Rothschild, Chateau Latour, Chateau Pichon Lalande). Lunch in the village of Pauillac. In the afternoon visit of a classified vineyard in the Margaux appellation (visit either Chateau Margaux, Chateau Palmer, Chateau Lascombes). Dinner in a gastronomic restaurant in Margaux.
Day 3: In the morning, departure to St. Emilion medieval village. Visit of a classified vineyard in St Emilion (visit either Chateau Figeac, Chateau Grand-Mayne). Lunch in a typical bistro in St Emilion. Visit of an estate in Pomerol or Fronsac (visit either Chateau Gazin, Chateau L'Enclos, Chateau de la Riviere). Dinner in a farmstyle restaurant in Bordeaux city.
Day 4: In the morning, visit of a vineyard in the Graves (visit either Chateau Haut-Brion or Chateau Pape-Clement) or in another appellation in Medoc (Pauillac, Margaux, St Estephe, St Julien).

Note: Some vineyards will be closed on week-ends, bank holidays, in August and during harvest time. As we cannot guarantee availability at your most preferred chateau, we welcome your order of preference in Chateau.
