We offer an 8 day tour of the Southern Argentine ski resorts including stays in Bariloche and San Martin de los Andes, two of the best towns to visit in all of Argentina. This trip starts and ends in Bariloche, focuses on getting a lot of skiing in, has a special stash location outside of Villa La Angostura, and a ton of amazing views while traveling through Argentina's Seven Lakes area. Join us in the Argentine Powder Triangle this season, and get to ski a beautiful part of Argentina.
Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Meet group in Bariloche
Your tour guide will meet you in Bariloche, Argentina. Please arrive no later than 1pm to Bariloche. Flights connect to Bariloche from Buenos Aires and Santiago (check days of flights.) Our home, Hotel Nahuel Huapi is in the center of Bariloche, the biggest ski town in Argentina. We will have an authentic German/Argentine dinner with micro-brewed beer at the Familia Weiss restaurant near Bariloche’s central square.
Days 2-3: Ski/Ride Cerro Catedral
We will take our first two days to ski Cerro Catedral Alta Patagonia resort. This ski area boasts a modern six-pack detachable chair lift, in addition to several double, triple and quad chairlifts and other surface lifts, which access over 3,000 acres of inbounds terrain. We will also take advantage of Bariloche’s great nightlife and wealth of restaraunts. The first night we will try a culinary treat at an authentic Argentine grill at the Boliche de Don Alberto. Local Patagonian trout, salmon and the famous beef from the plains of Argentina will tempt our pallets. We can also spend a night with a gourmet dinner and a Flamenco dance performance at the Cubico Restaurant in downtown Bariloche.
Day 4: Travel to San Martin - Ski Chapelco
On day 4 we will travel to San Martin de Los Andes and the Chapelco Ski resort. We can take three different routes to reach our destination inside the Lanin National Park. If conditions allow us we will travel the Camino de Los Siete Lagos (7 Lakes Road), which is arguably the most scenic drive in South America. We will ski the afternoon at Chapelco Ski Resort. If you would prefer to have the afternoon off you are welcome to relax at our hotel or stroll the town square of this beautiful Patagonian village. We will spend nights 4 and 5 in San Martin de los Andes.
D ay 5: Ski/Ride Chapelco
On day five we will ski Cerro Bayo. The classic four-person gondola will lift you to the high peaks above Lake Lacar. The view from the summit is magnificent as you will see the Volcan Lanin and far off Volcan Villarica in Chile. The skiing at Chapelco will impress you. The lifts access many groomers for all abilities. The faces, bowls and natural features inside the resort will challenge skiers and riders off piste. Your free riding interests may lead you to look over the backside of the resort. Let our guides lead you down excellent hiking accessed terrain at Chapelco. We will stay the night in San Martin.
Days 6-7: Ski/Ride Cerro Bayo
On day six we will journey to the nearby uncrowded slopes of Cerro Bayo for two fantastic days of skiing. This resort has world-class off-piste skiing accessed by a quick hike along the summit ridge. The terrain on and off piste lends itself to challenge skiers and boarders of every ability level. We will stay in Villa La Angostura as our home during this exploration. This village, on the north shore of Lake Nahual Huapi, is the gateway to the Lanin National Park.
Day 8: Departure day
In the morning we will drive around the Lake Nahuel Huapi and return to the airport in time for our flights out. Hasta luego, until next year!
