Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Departure in the evening from Copenhagen

Day 2: Arrival Johannesburg/Pretoria
Our South African partners will meet and greet us at Johannesburg international airport in the morning and take us to our hotel in Pretoria (50 km). Here you'll get your motorcycle and have a tour briefing. Time to explore Pretoria with flowering trees (it is springtime in South Africa), shops and government buildings.

Day 3: Pretoria to Hazyview, 400km
We'll take the scenic route from Pretoria to Hazyview through Witbank, Middleburg, Stoffberg, Roossenekal, over De Berg Pass, the highest tar-road in Mpumalanga-province, on to tropical Lydenburg, Pilgrims Rest, a historical mining town with lots of curios and restuarants, and Hazyview where you'll be based for two nights.

Day 4: Hazyview – Panorama Route – Hazyview, 250km
Blyde River canyon, waterfalls, magical viewsites (weather permitting) and winding mountain passes will today one og highlights of the tour. We see Gods Window, Berlin and Lisbon waterfalls, Bourkes Luck Potholes, Animal rehab. centre and more. Return to Hazyview.

Day 5: Hazyview to Swaziland (Ezulweni Valley), 300km
After breakfast depart for the kingdom of Swaziland, home of the friendly Swazi people. After border procedures (visa is obtained at the border) weave our way along country roads and mountain passes. Visit Swaziland's own glass factory (Ngwenya Glass) and see the world famous Swazi candles being handcrafted at Swazi candles. There are many excellent restaurants, pubs and craft markets in the Ezulweni Valley where you will overnight at an excellent country inn.

Day 6: Swaziland’s Ezulweni Valley to St. Lucia, 330km
After breakfast we make our way through Swaziland and cross the South African border at Lavumisa into KwaZulu-Natal. In the afternoon you will arrive at the beautiful lagoon of St. Lucia (a World Heritage site) where you will spend the next two nights.

Day 7: St. Lucia at Leisure Day, 0 > 70km
Rest day. Optional excursion to Hluhluwe/Umfolozi Game Park famous for white Rhinoseros and other big animals. Traditional zulu villages. St. Lucia also has much to offer eg. river cruise viewing hippos, crocodiles and other wildlife.

Day 8: St. Lucia to Port Shepstone, 350km
Travel down the coast of the Indian Ocean through the big city of Durban to the south coast holiday town of Port Shepstone. Take a swim and relax after the day’s ride.

Day 9: Port Shepstone to Coffee Bay, 450km
After breakfast it is time to head for the Transkei, where the great Madiba, former president Nelson Mandela, was born. You will see why this region is called the wild coast. Endless unspoilt sandy beaches as far as the eye can see and dramatic cliffs. This is South Africa at its most African with colorful rondavels dotting the green hills.

Day 10: Coffee Bay to Port Alfred, 450km
After visiting The Hole in the Wall, a natural hole in a rock formed by waves battering against it, we take the N2 to East London and continue on the coastal road to Port Alfred, a small town right on a wide beach of sand dunes, where a friendly hotel is waiting for us.

Day 11: Port Alfred to Knysna, 450km
Follow the coastal route through the famous Tsitsikama rainforest to Knysna where you will bec based the next two nights. Knysna is the start of the famous Garden Route, the road skirting the warm Indian Ocean and the tall coastal mountains.

Day 12: Knysna – Garden Route – Knysna, 250km
Knysna is a truly beautiful place and ideal for a rest day. You can enjoy the beach or join the optional ride to see the mountains behind Knysna, the world-famous Cango Caves, ostrich farms, spectacular scenery and windiness that will be another highlight of the tour.

Day 13: Knysna – Scenic Route 62 – Stellenbosch, 450km
After an early breakfast you make your way over the Quteniqua Pass to the start of Route 62. The road winds through the Swartberg Mountains and the beautiful foothills in their valleys. The area is famous for it's wine lands. We arrive in Stellenbosch, capital of the wine land, and one of South Africa's oldest and best preserved towns.

Day 14: Stellenbosch – Cape Point – Cape Town, 170km
After breakfast wine farm visit, drive along Chapman's Peak drive to Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve (watch out for the baboons) and breath-taking Cape of Good Hope, Arrive at Cape Town, one of the most spectacular cities in the world, where we will stay for two days.

Day 15: Cape Town
Day at leisure to explore Cape Town's many attractions, eg. cable car up Table Mountain, V&A Waterfront with its shopping eldorado, historical Company Gardens and Green Market.

Day 16: Cape Town – Shuttle to Cape Town Airport
Time to shop and take in the last sights of Cape Town before we leave Africa in the evening.

Day 17: Arrival Copenhagen at Midday
