Our tour of Piemonte unveils a region which has achieved the status of gastronomic and enological perfection. Considered Italy’s greatest wine region, our tour focuses on the four best known, most important and distinct vineyard centers: Gavi, Acqui Terme, Alba and Asti. At our exclusive winery visits, our guest experts and local experts discuss the tradition of winemaking and the nuances of the area’s microclimates that give the wines their prized sophistication.

Tour Itinerary

Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Gavi - Ride the green pastures surrounding our lovely villa and take in the exhibits at the new “Museo dei Campionissimi.”

Days 2 - 3: Acqui Terme - The Castles of Monferrato, hilltop castles that protect villages and vineyards, loom over the ride to Acqui Terme, a thermal spa town since the Roman Empire. Day 3, we roll through a broad winemaking landscape and learn how the region's famous white truffles are hunted.

Day 4: Alba - Enjoy magnificent views of the snow-capped Alps as we cross the Alte Langhe (literally, high hills) en route to Alba-Piedmont's truffle capital.

Day 5: Viva Il Vino! - Today is all about wine! We will have two private, guided visits to E. Pira & Figli and Vietti, and share a typical Piemontese lunch in La Morra between visits.

Day 6: Asti - Today we climb a panoramic ridge to Castello di Govone for a garden picnic. Overnight at a restored 15th-c. Benedictine abbey, where owner Signora Firato and her family prepare fine Piedmontese cuisine.

Day 7: Vignale Monferrato - Enjoy a loop ride north to peaceful Monferrato, situated high on a ridge, and on to Vignale Monferrato, the region's wine capital.

Day 8: Arrivederci! - Shuttle transfer to the Asti train station to make your connections.
