Those who dream of conquering the world’s great mountain passes on silky smooth roads will be in pedaling heaven as we circle Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in Europe. The Matterhorn, Monte Rosa and Grand Paradiso provide a stunning backdrop for Alpine lakes, lush valleys and storybook chalets. This three-country adventure includes two days of glacier hiking!
Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Aosta - "The Rome of the Alps” is surrounded by grand, snowy peaks.
Day 2: Martigny - Climb the St. Bernard pass, then descend to the romantic Swiss village of Martigny.
Days 3 - 5: Chamonix - Ride uphill through a chestnut forest to the Col de la Forclaz. Descend into France, then climb along a gorge to the Col des Montets. Day 4, hike Alpine meadows with our expert guide. Day 5, optional spin to Switzerland's Lake Geneva.
Days 6 - 7: Val d’Isere
Ride along the astonishing Route des Grandes Alpes that connects Chamonix with Nice. Day 7, hike to Fond du Fours and savor a hearty lunch.
Day 8: Valloire - Conquer two of the Alps’ most challenging passes along Europe's highest road. Arrive in time for dinner at the best restaurant in town.
Day 9: Briançon - Continue south to Briançon, a medieval-walled town where 18th c. frescoes adorn churches and town buildings.
Day 10: Arrivederci! - From Briançon take an early morning shuttle to Torino.
