Sestriere, a venue for the 2006 Winter Olympics, was the world's first purpose-built ski resort. Formed in 1934 by Fiat founder Giovanni Agnelli, it is a lively village with reliable snow. With over 100 lifts in the region, you are guaranteed to enjoy a fun-filled ski and/or snowboard vacation.
Sestriere offers top-level sports facilities with excellent opportunities to appreciate the Italian culture and food and wine, while enjoying magnificent natural surroundings.
The skiing and snowboarding in the region is extensive and wide- ranging. As part of the Via Lattea ski area, its most famous pistes are the Sises, Banchetta (which hosted the men's downhill, the downhill for the Nordic combined, and the Super Giant Slalom in 2006) and Motta, as well as the "Giovanni Alberto Agnelli" piste that is also used at night, with artificial lighting.
Located in a sunny position 500 m from the town center, your home for the week will be the Hotel I Cavalieri. It offers you rooms en suite with an own cooking area. A regular bus service from the hotel takes its slope-bound passengers straight to the lifts, when ready.
Notes:
Airfare is included in the tour price.
