Horses since ancient times have always been the main means of transport for nomadic people in Central Asia. We offer you to make the fascinating trip on horseback into the heart of the Kyrgyz Ala-Too. During our travels, we will stop to visit Kyrgyz families still follow the traditional ways and we will be welcomed into their yourts for "milk tea".
Your Itinerary
Day 1: Your guide meets you at the airport in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan's capital and takes you to a hotel, where you can recuperate after your long flight. Then we have ample time to visit Ala-Too, the main square of Bishkek, Historical museum and Osh bazaar. During dinner we take apple time to listen to the Manaschi, a singer performing the national Kyrgyz epos, Manas.
Day 2: The day starts with detailed briefing of what the trip holds. Today we drive to the Shamsi gorge (120 km.) where there is our first campsite. There we get acquainted with the horses and ride on horseback for 1-2 hours.
Days 3-5: We ride on horseback to Ashu-Kel-Tor gorge via Ai-Gur Pass (3100 m.) and visit the Lake Kel-Tor to enjoy the beautiful view of great nature.
Days 6-9: These days we ride on horseback to Konorchek canyon, a mysterious land of highly-colored red formations of sandstone shining on the sun.
Day 10: Our bus is waiting for us in Boom gorge and we drive towards one of most beautiful lakes of Kyrgyzstan, lake Song-Kul (180 km.). It's situated at an altitude of 3013 m. above sea level. Here we have a chance to meet Kyrgyz shepherds and experience their nomadic life.
Day 11: Famous Lake Issyk-Kul is our destination for this day (240 km.) We accommodate at hotel at the shore of the lake.
Day 12: We have a free time for swimming, diving, hiking and relaxing.
Day 13: We come back to Bishkek (270 m.)
Day 14: You depart from the airport in Bishkek. We enjoyed hosting you in Central Asia and hope to see you once again!
