Our comfortable 4x4 vehicles will transport you to a scenic lodge situated ± 11 kilometres from the airport. Tour briefing and an induction course on dirt road motorbike riding will follow upon arrival at the lodge. You are now ready to get your first taste of African dirt roads and will have plenty of time during the rest of the day to familiarize yourself with the motorbike you will be using during the tour. Final tour administration and planning will be concluded before dinner is served at the lodge while you enjoy the opportunity to acquaint yourself with your tour hosts and fellow participants. Lodge accommodation will provide the necessary comfort for a good night’s rest prior to the first day of serious riding.

DAY TWO (320km):
Early wake up call by your tour leader and a hearty Namibian breakfast at the lodge will set you up for your first stretch of true adventurous dirt road riding. En route to our destination at Omaruru you will get your first opportunity to experience the splendid beauty of the Namibian landscape. A gravel road will take you to Okahandja where you can witness the Omatako Mountains (Herero for buttocks) north of Okahandja. Self catering chalets at a lodge near Omaruru will provide the ideal setting to unwind from the first day of riding. A variety of game at the lodge will introduce you to the Namibian wildlife. Optional game drives can be arranged. After the game drive the camp fire will be lit for a traditional Namibian braai. The day will be concluded with a night cap at the waterhole.

DAY THREE: (370km)
After breakfast at the lodge we will visit the winery and the traditional wood carvers in Omaruru before we depart for Kamanjab. On our way we will stop at the Otjihaenamaparero Fossil Tracks for snacks and drinks. These footprints of land living three toed upright walking dinosaurs formed some 150 to 180 million years ago will provide a unique photo opportunity. About 4.5 km before reaching Kamanjab we will visit the Peet Alberts Koppie which is Namibia’s second-largest rock engraving site. Dinner and accommodation will be provided by a lodge near Kamanjab.

DAY FOUR: (340km)
A wake up call at the crack of dawn and a scrumptious breakfast at the lodge will prepare you to depart for the Kunene River. We will be traveling north next to the western border of the Etosha National Park as we enter Owamboland. You will know witness the traditional Owambo lifestyle in the various villages next to the road. As we turn west we will enter the rugged Kaokoland which is regarded as one of Namibia’s most scenic regions. Friendly traditional nomadic Himba livestock farmers will greet with enthusiasm along way. Snacks will be served at the Ruacana waterfalls which are quite spectacular when in flood. One possible explanation for the name is “Orua Hakahana” which is the Ovahimba meaning for fast waters. From here a challenging and adventurous route along the Kunene River will take us to a lodge on the banks of the Kunene River. Dinner will be served while you relax around the camp fire.

DAY FIVE: (rest day)
A day of rest and leisure will be spent on the bank of the Kunene River. The evening will be spent around the campfire while your hosts will be treating you with their personal favorite outdoor recipes prepared on open fire while you share stories of your motorbike adventure with fellow participants.

DAY SIX: (180km)
After a traditional breakfast prepared on open fire we will set off to the Epupa Falls. We will be traveling along the Kunene River for a short distance up to Swartbooisdrif form where we will turn south and again north to reach the Epupa falls. Here you will experience the traditional lifestyle of the Ovahimba people in Kaokoland. The Epupa Falls is an astonishing sight after traveling through the very harsh Kaokoland. Here the Kunene River plunges over a 450meter cascade of 45 degrees. You will see Makalani palms growing along the Kunene River and Baobab trees against the cliffs. Dinner will be served at the campsite.

DAY SEVEN: (320km)
A wake up call at the crack of dawn and a scrumptious traditional breakfast prepared on open fire will prepare you to depart for Fort Sesfontein via the frontier town of Opuwo. Palmwag will provide the ideal opportunity to take a break and enjoy refreshments. Palmwag is at the centre of the area inhabited by the world-renowned desert-dwelling elephant and black rhino, and the possibility of seeing these rare animals is one of the main attractions of the area. The main attraction at Fort Sesfontein is the old German Fort, which was built in 1905 and later restored to the Fort Sesfontein Lodge. We will camp and have dinner around the campfire.

DAY EIGHT: (240km)

Tonight you will be treated to traditional German cuisine in one of the finest restaurants in town. The cool and fresh sea breeze will guarantee a rejuvenating night’s rest.

DAY ELEVEN (excursions):
After breakfast we will depart for a day of various activities and sight seeing in and around Swakopmund. Swakopmund is a colourful blend of the old, solid, colonial past and the new vibrant Namibia. It is a true tourist friendly town with the accent on relaxation and enjoyment with a full range of things to do and places to see. Possible activities include: Tandem skydive, scenic airplane flights, sand boarding, boat cruises, and visits to the moon landscapes, lichen fields, dunes, welwitschia mirabilis & aquarium.

DAY TWELVE (304km):
After breakfast at Villa Wiese we will set off along the coast to Hentiesbay. As you continue along the coast you will notice bright splashes of colour on the grey sands. These are lichen fields, consisting of colonies of these primitive plants which obtain all of their moisture from the sea fog and which is a very threatened species. From Hentiesbay we will proceed to the Spitzkoppe across the open desert. The Spitzkoppe is one of the most famous landmarks in Namibia and the view of this impressive mountain is superb with plenty of tempting photographic opportunities. From here it is only a short distance before you reach Ameib Ranch in the Erongo Mountains. You will camp in the Erongo Mountains and dinner will be served while you relax around the camp fire.

DAY THIRTEEN (excursions):
After breakfast we will depart for a day visit to the Spitzkoppe and Ameib Ranch. The Spitzkoppe were formed by the process called inselbergs when granitic magma masses intruded into the much older Damara Mountains about 100 million years ago. The Spitzkoppe were only exposed by erosion of the surrounding plains over millions of years. A special treat at the Spitzkoppe is a small hidden valley called the “Bushman’s Paradise”. Ameib Ranch with its spectacular rock formations and fine rock art is lying in a spectacular setting in the Erongo Mountains. One site in particular has become quite famous; it is a concentration of gigantic rounded boulders called the “Bulls Party”. The huge “balancing” rocks are also quite unique. Tonight will be your last night of camping under the African skies. Relax around the fire and reflect on your African adventure while your hosts spoil you with another camp fire dinner.

DAY FOURTEEN (320km):
Our last day of riding will cover the stretch from Ameib Ranch to Windhoek. From Windhoek we will proceed to a lodge near the Hosea Kutako International Airport for the last night of the tour. Our comfortable 4x4 vehicles will transport you to Windhoek for dinner at the famous Joe’s Beerhouse where generous portions of excellent Namibia and German food can be enjoyed in the cozy atmosphere of this unique pub and restaurant with its very original witty décor.

DAY FIFTEEN:
Our 4x4 vehicles will take you on a day visit to various historical places and places of interest in Windhoek after breakfast at the lodge. A light meal will be served during the day. Later during the day you we will drive you to Hosea Kutako International Airport for your return flight.
