Tour Itinerary
Day 1 & 2: Our representative will meet you at Livingstone Airport and transfer you to the lodge, on the banks of the Zambezi River. During the next two days your activities will include: game drives/walks with experienced guides, visits to the Falls themselves and an optional choice of all the ‘adrenaline’ extras for which the area is famous. Overnight Sussi & Chuma Lodge.
Day 2: Another day of excitement and romance on the banks of Africa’s most spectacular river. Overnight Sussi & Chuma Lodge.
Day 3: Depart by charter flight to the magnificent World Heritage Wetlands site of Lochinvar National Park. The transfer takes approximately 1 hr. From here you can explore the vast wetlands noted for thousands of the endemic Kafue Lechwe and many other plains game. However the real drawcard is the birdlife; this is a birdwatcher’s paradise with 428 recorded species. Overnight Lechwe Plains Tented Camp.
Day 4: A day for further exploration of the floodplains and surrounds. The exotic and beautiful Lechwe Plains Tented Camp is an African fantasy under canvas. The tented lodge, built onto teak decking, shelters under a mature grove of acacia trees on the edge of the wide Chunga Lagoon. The close-up experience of living in the same environment as the wildlife offers a new perspective to the visitor. Peace and beauty together with ever-changing waterscapes will offer opportunities for special interest groups and individual visitors alike. Guests will have the undivided attention of the hosts and staff, including a competent ornithologist and guide. Overnight Lechwe Plains Tented Camp.
Day 5 & 6: Depart after breakfast for your flight to Lower Zambezi National Park (approx. 1 hour) and Kulefu Tented Safari Camp. The Park is a water wilderness area on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River. There are many options available in this area. Walk under the guidance of your professional guide or game drive in an open safari vehicle. Game viewing on the water along the banks of the Zambezi. Overnight Kulefu Tented Camp.
Day 6: An early morning game viewing opportunity by canoe. Paddle the tranquil waters along the banks of the Zambezi River viewing hippo pods or herds of buffalo and elephant as they come down to drink. Game viewing can also be by Jet Boat. Further game viewing opportunities may be taken during the day. Overnight Kulefu Tented Camp.
Day 7 & 8: Depart after breakfast by private charter for your flight to Mfuwe. On arrival at Mfuwe the transfer to the lodge of your choice is a game drive through the park and takes approximately one hour. The Park is noted for its big game species particularly Leopard, Lion and Elephant and a whole host of antelope species. Named for the elusive Puku antelope which never strays far from water, this beautiful camp among the trees overlooks a sweeping expanse of the fertile Kakumbi dambo (valley). Here, the living is easy for both visitors and wildlife. Puku Ridge Tented Camp is small and intimate, built unobtrusively close to the wild.
Day 8: Another day spent walking and driving in this special sanctuary. Overnight Puku Ridge.
Day 9: Transfer back to Mfuwe for your flight to Lusaka international airport and onward connections.
