Drive through Heiðmörk Nature Park with bushy vegetation and lava fields. A short stop at Maríuhellir cave before arriving at the Íshestar Riding Centre in Hafnarfjörður. There the Íshestar riders explain the characteristics and development of this special pure horse breed followed by a horse show (15 min.). You will then have the opportunity to try the friendly Icelandic horse on a short ride (30 min.) or have your picture taken with a friendly horse from the herd. Optional lunch buffet at on site Restaurant Jósalir (available for an extra charge).
Now it is time for mysteries and fun stories from Hafnarfjörður village!
Hafnarfjördur is a picturesque seaside town nestled in the rugged lava. Legend has it that some of Iceland’s elves and hidden people live in Hafnarfjördur’s lava cliffs and rocks, in peaceful coexistence with the town’s human residents. Hear stories about the hidden people as well as the people that have lived in this unique old fishing village throughout the centuries. Our stay in Hafnarfjörður ends at the Viking Village with coffee and a taste of traditional Icelandic snacks (included in the tour price). Arrival back at hotels between 17:00 and 17:30.
