This scheduled 9 day / 8-night Safari includes the highlights of the Namib Desert, the Sossusvlei, the coastal resort Swakopmund, the wilderness area of Damaraland and the great Etosha National park.
Your Itinerary:
Day 1 (Wednesday): Depart at. 09.00 from your Hotel in Windhoek via the scenic Spreetshoogte Pass to the luxurious Namib Naukluft Lodge to arrive for lunch; Pm enjoy the open spaces of the surrounding desert landscape, go for walks in the vicinity and join a scenic 'sundowner'-drive to the ' Marble Mountains'. Overnight at Namib Naukluft Lodge, full board 250 km.
Day 2 (Thursday): Early morning rise for your excursion to the spectacular Sossusvlei with some of the highest dunes in the world. Visit the Sesriem Canyon before you return to the Lodge. Spend the afternoon at leisure . Overnight at Namib Naukluft Lodge . Full board 240 km.
Day 3 (Friday): En route to Swakopmund, stop at the Kuiseb Canyon and in Walvis Bay to see the lagoon with its flamingo population; picnic lunch; afternoon free to explore the bustling holiday town Swakopmund. Overnight at the Strand Hotel or Hansa Hotel Swakopmund. BB 250 km.
Day 4 (Saturday): Today we explore some more of the Namib Desert with its ancient Welwitschia plants & lichen-fields; View the eerie 'Moon landscape' and 'Oasis' Goanikontes; After lunch travel northwards (120 km) to the Cape Cross Seal Colony and the fishing village of . Overnight at the Strand Hotel or Hansa Hotel/ Swakopmund. BB 300 km.
Day 5 (Sunday): Your journey leads you further north into the Damaraland with sightseeing en route. Arrive at the Ugab Valley with the famous sandstone formation ' Rock Finger' during the late afternoon. Overnight: Vingerklip Lodge / Outjo. Dinner/BB 350 km.
Day 6 (Monday): Game viewing in the great Etosha National park lies ahead. The park is famous for a large variety of antelopes, Zebra, Giraffes amongst other game; with a little luck you may be able to spot Elephant, Rhino and some of the big cats; Overnight: Etosha Rest Camp (pref. Okaukuejo). BB 260 km
Day 7 (Tuesday): Travel along the dried out salt pan with game watching along the various watering places to the eastern side of the park; Lunch at one of the rest camps (own account) ; view the historic Fort Namutoni and exit just before sunset to the luxurious Mokuti Lodge, situated just outside the 'Von Lindequist Gate'. Overnight at: Mokuti Lodge / Etosha BB 250 km.
Day 8 (Wednesday): Spend the whole day game watching in the National park again; Overnight: Mokuti Lodge/ Etosha BB +/- 120km.
Day 9 (Thursday): Travel back to Windhoek with stops at the 'sunken lake' Otjikoto, the Hoba Meteorite and Otjiwarongo. Arrive in Windhoek by late afternoon. 550 km.
