This tour is designed for those who love being active in the nature. Daily routes are rather short - 2 to 3 hours of easy paddling - and not demanding, fit for all ages between 14 and late sixties (no previous kayaking experience is necessary). Dubrovnik and Elafiti shorelines are rich in history and natural variety - cliffs, caves, coves, rocks, beaches. Lopud, Kolocep and Sipan belong to Elafiti Islands Archipelago - green islands covered by pine forests, without car traffic, with lots of sunshine and sandy beaches, less than an hour sailing time from Dubrovnik. Each has no more than a couple of hundreds permanent residents who live in stone houses of traditional character. Tall palm trees, parks, gardens and flowers everywhere contribute to easy going life style. Occasionally groups of kayaks are escorted by friendly dolphins or tunas that are often seen in the area.
Your Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival to Dubrovnik and transfer to Lopud island, or Zaton Bay if you decided on camping. Accommodation in rooms of private houses is situated close to the sea. After a get-together dinner in one of the local restaurants, a walk - to familiarize with the area.
Day 2: Sea kayaking instructions in the bay and first trip already in the afternoon. It will take you around the island to a sandy beach of Sunj bay. Diving mask, snorkel and fins will be provided for you to expolore the rich and colorful underwater world. Walk back to the village for dinner (20 minutes).
Day 3: Leave in the morning to the island of Sipan. Sipan has colorful villages of Sudjuradj and Luka Sipanska. The fields between them have preserved the real country life style, chapels, monasteries, palaces and summerhouses of ancient Dubrovnik aristocracy. This island is unbelievably rich in cultural heritage, tales from the past and well-preserved monuments that witnessed its turbulent history. We will explore them by walking and bicycling and there will be plenty of time to enjoy Luka beaches and restaurants. We will return to Lopud by late in the afternoon.
Day 4: Today we shall relax on Lopud beaches, cafes and parks. Optionally you can take a ferry to Dubrovnik (50 minutes) and enjoy this fascinating old town.
Day 5: Paddle, swim and snorkel around Kolocep Island, the most interesting for sea kayaking and hiking with most dramatic scenery with hidden dark caves, high cliffs and colorful reefs. Walk through Gornje Celo and Donje Celo, well-preserved romantic Mediterranean villages, and along high cliffs. Late in the afternoon we shall take the ferry to Dubrovnik, the most beautiful of all Mediterranean towns, for sightseeing, shopping in ancient streets, walking along city walls… Ice cream or coffee taste the best in open-air bistros along Stradun, old town’s main street and promenade. Return to Lopud in the evening.
Days 6 and 7: Beach days. You are free to do whatever you enjoy the most. Sunbathing, swimming, snorkeling, walking, kayaking.
