Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Addis Ababa; meet your guide holding a Green Land Tours sticker and transfer to hotel. O/N (overnight) 4-star hotel.
Day 2: Full day tour of the capital. Visit the Entoto Mountains, with its view over the capital, the National Museum and Trinity Church. Afternoon visit to the Merkato, the biggest open-air market in Africa and shopping. Meals on your own; O/N in a 4-star hotel.
Day 3: Drive to the Rift Valley lakes of Shala, Abyata and Langano, admiring wonderful views, many birds, pelicans, flamingoes, hot springs and more. Relax at Wenney Eco-lodge, secluded in a natural paradise on the shores of Lake Langano and near the Munessa forest. Available activities here are trekking, bird watching, horse riding, boat excursions, cycling, team-building activities, mini-soccer and beach volley ball.
Day 4: Visit the Wolayta people and villages admiring spectacular green hills on the way to Arba Minch, (which means “forty springs” in Amharic). Afternoon drive to Chencha to visit the Dorze people, their unique culture, houses, and traditions. O/N Swaynes Hotel with spectacular views over Lakes Chamo and Abaya.
Day 5: Morning visit to Netch Sar National Park, sanctuary of the endemic Swaynes hartebeest, zebra and more. Afternoon boat ride on Lake Chamo to see crocodiles, hippos and more. O/N Swaynes Hotel.
Day 6. Proceed to Jinka, admiring the Derase, Tsemay, Ari and Benna people on the way. If today is Thursday, you can visit the very colorful market for the Tsemay and Erbore people at Key Afer. O/N Jinka.
Day 7: Enter Mago National Park to visit the Mursi people and their villages. Here for beauty women insert round clay plates in their lips. The men practice scarification based on the number of enemies or wild animals they have killed in battle. O/N Jinka.
Day 8: Drive to Turmi, and if today is Saturday you can see the colorful Hamer, Karo and Dassanech people at the market in Dimeka. Proceed to the Hamer villages and O/N tented bungalows at Evangadi Lodge.
Day 9: Drive to visit the Karo people, with their interesting body decorations and scarification; admire the view of the Omo river from Kortcho village. Then drive on to Kangate and cross the Omo River by small boat to admire the Bume people and their villages. Back and O/N in Turmi.
Day 10: Morning excursion to Omorate, on the banks of the Omo river, to visit the Dassanech people. Then back to Turmi for the colorful Monday market of the Hamer, Karo and Dassanech people. Witness Hamer dances (Evangadi) and seasonal marriage ceremonies with bull-jumping. O/N Evangadi Lodge.
Day 11: Visit the Erbore villages and make a stop to admire the agricultural terracing practices of the Konso. Then proceed to Arba Minch for O/N.
Day 12: Drive back to Addis. Traditional dinner in the evening with folk dances. Departure.

Vehicles for the entire tour with capacity to 5 clients/car, plus English-speaking driver. 4-star hotel (Imperial or De Leopol or Ghion) in Addis Ababa on BB basis (bed and breakfast) and 2-3-star hotels outside of Addis Ababa on FB basis (full board) in double room occupancy (hotels as available). Camping when required, with camping gear and 3 meals a day. Meals outside of Addis Ababa in restaurant, camping or on the road, as programmed and required, including non-alcoholic drinks during meals. Entrance fees for parks, museums, monasteries, etc. Driver-cook for nights camping or additional cook if number of clients is equal to or more than 6 (six) clients. Boat on Chamo Lake as on program. Government taxes.
Not included: Drinks and meals in Addis Ababa. Alcoholic drinks and drinks outside of meals for entire tour. All flights, including embarkation fees, airport porters and taxes. Tips. Any personal expenses.
