Ethiopia is an ancient and spectacular country, where time has stood still. Yes. In Ethiopia, you will relax in a world whose natural beauty has not been cluttered by industry and technology. Imagine being born 100 years or even 500 years ago. You see that the world has slowed down from its frantic pace. The people walk casually on the streets, sip tea, and chat for hours. People are genuine and are experiencing life at their own pace. This is Ethiopia, today.

On your cultural immersion Safari you will have a chance to discover the ancient history of Northern Ethiopia. This region is filled with religious, art, and architectural history. We specialize in designing custom tours that perfectly reflect your interests and focus. Here is an example itinerary we can use as a starting point to begin our discussion on how to make your experience perfect:

Tour Itinerary

Day 1: We will pick you and your luggage up upon your arrival in Bole Aiport and bring you to your accomodations in Addis. You will stay here overnight in a local hotel.

Day 3: We will wake up early and fly to Bahir Dar. In the morning we will drive about 30 km to the Blue Nile Falls. We will take in the magnificent falls as the sun rises. We will return to Bahir Dar and take a boat toar on Lake Tana. Lake Tana is Ethiopia's largest lake and famous for the churches and monasteries on 20 of the lake's 37 islands. A highlight of a lake tour includes a 'tankwa' (papyrus boat) trip to the Zeghe Peninsula where you will find the famous 14th century round, grass-roofed churches with their magnificent wall murals. We will stay in Bahir Dar overnight in a local hotel.

Day 3: Drive to Gondar. We will view the medieval castles built by emperor Fasiledes in the 17th Century. Day 5: Fly to Lalibela. Here we will tour the 11 historic Lalibela churches, which are considered a 9th wonder of the world. Some are almost completely hidden in deep trenches, and others stand in open quarried caves. A complex and bewildering labyrinth of tunnels and narrow passageways with crypts, grottoes, and galleries connects them all. We will stay here overnight in a local hotel.

Day 6: Drive to Woldia. Along the way we will visit Yemrehane Christos. This monastery is situated inside a cave. Yemrehane Christos, a striking church sited within a cave built by King Yemrehane Christos (let Christ show the way) who ruled before King Lalibela. The monastery is full of artwork and carvings that have been preserved for thousands of years. We will stay in Woldia overnight in a local hotel.
