Come and see “The European Condors” - Griffon and Black (Cinereous) Vultures – plus many more: Egyptian Vulture, Imperial Eagle, White-tailed Eagle, Long-legged Buzzard, etc. This 2-day trip is appropriate for tourists based along the southern Bulgarian coast, between Sunny Beach resort and the town of Sozopol.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Departure from the hotel - around 08.00 – 09.00 a.m. Drive to the town of Madjarovo in the Eastern Rhodopes Mountain with stops in Sakar Mountain for a lunch and birding: Imperial Eagle, Long-legged Buzard, Levant Sparrowhawk, Masked Shrike (May-July only), Olive-tree Warbler (May-July only), Orphean Warbler (May-July only), Calandra Lark, Isabeline Wheatear, Sombre Tit, etc.; Arriving in Madjarovo in afternoon (~ 4.00-5.00 p.m.) and birding in the area. Accommodation in our Visitor Centre in Madjarovo; Dinner. After dinner - watching Scops Owls singing in the town’s park.

Day 2: In the morning - Vulture feeding show in the area of Studen Kladenets; Packed lunch; In the afternoon – birding in the area of Studen Kladenets; At 3.00 - 4.00 p.m. – leave back for the coast (about 3.5-4 hours driving).

Key species of birds to be seen in the Eastern Rhodopes: Cinereous (Black) Vulture, Griffon Vulture, Egyptian Vulture, Imperial Eagle, White-tailed Eagle, Black Kite – all visiting the vulture feeding place; Booted Eagle, Short-toed Eagle, Long-legged Buzzard, Black Stork, Chukar, Syrian Woodpecker, Scops Owl, Pallid Swift, Red-rumped Swallow, Grag Martin, Woodchat Shrike, Sardinian Warbler, Subalpine Warbler, Barred Warbler, Eastern Bonelli’s Warbler (May-June only), Blue Rock Thrush, Black-eared Wheatear, Rock Nuthatch, Sombre Tit, Lesser Grey Shrike

The tour price includes:
- transport by car (individuals, 2-3 p.) or minibus (more than 3 p.)
