Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Travel by land through Ghana and visit neighboring French-speaking countries Togo and Benin. Early morning departure to Lome via several friendly towns and villages, and Sogakope bridge overlooking the Volta Lake. Arrive at Aflao, Ghana/Togo border, after border formalities enter Lome, Republic of Togo.
City tour of Lome includes a market visit and tour of the principal streets, driving by government ministries of Togo. After lunch, continue coastal drive to Cotonou, Benin. Transfer to hotel for overnight stay in Benin.
Day 2: After breakfast visit the market and handicraft shops in the area, see a world of cultural artifacts of Benin riding on principal streets. Proceed to Ouidah, the slave open market. Visit the slave mass grave where thousands of slaves were buried resulting from torture, hunger and inhuman treatment. Walk on the narrow footpath where slaves were chained and escorted into the waiting slave ships to sail them to the Americas.
Travel to Ganvie - the popular lake dwellers village where over 20,000 people live on the lake and perform their daily life activities; shopping, schooling, marketing and kids play, all recreational activities are done on the water. The village is reached by boat. On our return trip lunch is served at the restaurant; balance of day at leisure.
Day 3: Return to Accra via Togo
