Tour Itinerary:
Day 1 – Your Vacation Begins – Fort Lauderdale to Quebec City
Fly out of Florida at 1:50pm, arriving in historic Quebec City by 5:15pm. With a historic city wall, cobble stone streets, and centuries old heritage buildings, Quebec City has an old world air that can’t be found anywhere else in North America. One day in Quebec City and you will understand why the French and English battled so fiercely for this land. French Canadian culture is at its peak in Quebec City, so think back to your high school French lessons and join right in. Overnight in Quebec City.
Day 2 – Board VIA Rail Canada – Quebec City to Toronto
Relax next to a big picture window as you journey along the shore of the St. Lawrence River, through the open farmland of rural Quebec, and along the shore of Lake Ontario. The sounds of Canada’s largest city welcome you as you step into downtown Toronto. Couples hurry along the sidewalk, rushing to one of Toronto’s big stage productions. A woman quickly shifts all her shopping bags to one arm as she raises a hand to hail a cab, and the smell of Chinese food makes you salivate as a delivery boy bikes along the street in front of you. Toronto beckons and you’re anxious to get out and explore the city. Overnight in Toronto.
Day 3 – Urban Exploration – Discover Toronto
Toronto is so big that you just don’t know where to start! Your dilemma is solved this morning with a short guided tour – it’s a great way to get your bearings in the city. Discover where to find illustrious Casa Loma, old and new City Halls, Eaton Centre, and Yorkville – Toronto’s trendiest neighbourhood. A drive along the harbourfront, with the CN Tower standing tall behind you, completes your tour and leaves you eager to get out on the town. Overnight in Toronto.
Day 4 – Roaring Waters - Tour Niagara Falls
Sink into the seat of your luxury motorcoach this morning as you begin the journey to southern Ontario’s greatest natural wonder – Niagara Falls. Your discovery of Canada’s diverse regions starts today as you travel through industry driven Hamilton, the fruit producing area of St. Catherine’s, and the wineries of the Niagara Peninsula. Adventure behind the falls and see the water from the underside - amazing! A scenic drive along the Niagara Parkway takes you to the calmness of Niagara-on-the-Lake - the ideal place to unwind by strolling through the local shops. Overnight in Toronto.
Day 5 – Board VIA Rail Canada – Toronto to Montreal
Leave English Canada behind as you travel by train to metropolitan Montreal. The city is fully bilingual and is a favourite for both French and English speakers alike. Picture a city with an unparalleled mix of historic stone architecture and skyscrapers rising high into the air - Montreal is a modern city with all the old world charm. Sit at a sidewalk café, nibble on Pain au Chocolate, and revel in Montreal’s inescapable “joie de vivre.” Overnight in Montreal.
Day 6 - French Canada’s Hub - Tour Montreal
See the lively residential and financial districts as your English speaking guide fills you in on life in modern Montreal. Take a trip back in time when you stop at the gorgeous Notre Dame Basilica and learn through osmosis by visiting the campus of McGill University. You cap off the day with a view from the top of Montreal’s namesake – Mont Royal. Translated as “Royal Mountain,” the view from the top is as rich as the French royalty of old. Overnight in Montreal.
Day 7 – Board VIA Rail Canada – Montreal to Quebec City
Travel through some of Quebec’s most picturesque countryside today as your Canadian train vacation returns to Quebec City. Visit Place Royale, where the Chateau Frontenac sits grandly on the plateau above, drawing all eyes toward it. Three centuries of Quebec’s military past are on display at the Fortifications, and can almost see the last battle take place on the Plains of Abraham.
