The Garden Route is a relatively first world area with modern medical facilities, all other first world communication and other facilities close by. We had to make a plan as a traditional multiday horse tour in this region would be crossing tarmac roads, we do not ride with a horse where a car can go.
On our multiday horse tour you will experience all the famous Garden Route environments with us transporting your horse and yourself for various one day rides. Even in this modern first world area you have opportunities to view all five of the African Big Five some from horse back and some from the safety of a vehicle.
The Garden Route (specially Mossel Bay) have a abundance of Private Nature Reserves where everything from lions to elephants are available to view. (Touching them could be hazardously to your health. Do not unnecessary try our modern medical facilities in the Garden Route )
Very few areas in the Garden Route we can horse ride for more than a day without crossing a tarmac road or stopping at a fence. We only do horse riding in out of reach places where you will not see other people in ordinary vehicles. We at Great are specialized horse operators and we leave the accommodation and food to specialist in that field. We supply drinks and a simple saddle bag lunch for the horse riding day Please view the website of the following accommodation suppliers, Utilizing the private game farms as a horse riding area you must stay at the private game farm.
You will use the same horse for the multi day horse tour except if you want to change horses , we will transport the horses between different riding places. You welcome to join the horse transport but your accommodation supplier will offer horse rider transport between different horse riding places.
Your multi day horse tour can consist of the following days:
* One or two day beach / coastal horse ride between Mossel Bay & Gouritz River mouth
* One or two day mountain horse ride utilizing Attekwas Kloof through the Outeniqua mountains up to Bonniedale
* One or two day private game reserve ride viewing South African big five game
* One day beach / coastal Horse tour in Goukamma Coastal Nature Reserve
