Marvel at the temples and palaces, relax on the beach. Explore the foothills of the Western Ghats with its jungle, wild life, plantations, and enjoy the serenity of the backwaters. Day 1 - Bangalore
On arrival you will be met by us at the airport and transferred to our centrally located hotel where you will spent one night. The afternoon is free to relax at our wonderful hotel or go exploring this bustling city. This evening Pink Lagoon hosts a welcome dinner along with a brief orientation and introductions all around. Overnight in Bangalore.
Day 2 - Varkala
In the morning we fly to Trivandrum and on to Varkala from there. For the next two nights we stay in a tranquil villa close to the beach. You can spend the rest of the afternoon exploring this pretty town. The restaurants and cafes in Varkala all sit perched in a long line on the edge of a very high cliff that looks down over the beach.
Day 3 - Varkala
Varkala at leisure. You may opt to visit the 2000 year old Vishnu temple and the Sivagiri Mutt ashram nearby or take a dip in the mineral water springs.
Day 4 - Alleppey
After breakfast we travel by train to Alleppy. Late in the afternoon we enjoy a backwater cruise. Overnight in a backwater resort in Alleppey.
Day 5 - Houseboat
This morning after breakfast we embark on one of the highlights of the tour. A cruise on the breathtaking backwaters of Kerala. Sit back and relax as you cruise the glassy waters, taking in the tranquil beauty of the lake. On the cruise there are many delightful sights to treasure as memories. We moor overnight.
Day 6 - Thekaddy
We disembark in the morning and drive to Thekady. We stay here in a heritage resort that combines the regal ambience of an erstwhile summer palace with the mystery and the adventure of the jungle to give you the perfect hideway. In th afternoon we can go on a walking tour of Kumali town. Or you can stay back in your hotel and get dizzy from the spectacular sunset on the lake.
Day 7 - Thekaddy
Early in the morning we go on a cruise through Periyar on the lookout for a variety of wildlife. Declared a tiger reserve in 1978, you may even be lucky enough to spot a tiger. Later you can visit the plantations, climb the hills or stay indoors and learnttraditional mural painting.
Day 8 - Munnar
Today we set off high up into tea plantation country in Munnar. The drive to Munnar is as sublime as the destination itself as you pass though plantations and waterfalls, amidst mist clad mountains. In the afternoon we can go shopping in the provincial but exotic town or you may choose to enjoy the comforts of your resort where you will spend two nights.
Day 9 - Munnar
Today at leisure. Take in the stunning landscapes as we visit the sandalwood plantations. In the afternoon we can go on an excursion to Eravikulam National Park, straddled high up in the mountains.
Day 10 - Cochin
In the morning we head to the lovely port town of Cochin. Later go on a sightseeing tour that include the Spice market, Jewish Synagogue, Dutch palace and chinese fishing nets. In the evening enjoy a performance of Kathakali an ancient Kerala dance.
Day 11 - Bangalore
After breakfast we fly back to Bangalore. The rest of the day is free to relax. Overnight in Bangalore.
Day 12 - Mysore
In the morning we drive ot Mysore via Somnathpur; a temple town on the banks of river Cauvery. We continue to Mysore from there and after checking in to our hotel we can visit the royal palace that dominates this princely town. Overnight in Mysore.
Day 13 - Mysore
This morning we go on a sight-seeing tour of Mysore that includes the Chamundi hills and the fabulous Lalith Mahal Palace. Later in the evening we can visit the famed Brindavan Gardens and the K.R.S.Dam.
Day 14 - Bangalore
After breakfast we drive back to Bangalore via Srirangapatanam and visit Tipu Sultans's summer palace. Once in Bangalore you can rest and get ready for your farewell party tonight with Gay - Bangalore.
Day 15 - Bangalore Tour Ends
The day is free to relax and unwind as you prepare for your departure late in the evening.
