Mt. Everest (Khumbu) Region (Sagarmatha National Park): Sagarmatha National Park lies in the northeastern part of Nepal covering the Khumbu region. The Park was gazetted on 19 July 1976 with an area of 1,148 square kilometers that includes the world's highest peak of Mt. Everest (Sagarmatha). The high mountain peaks of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Cho-Oyu, Gyachung Khang, Khangtega, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Kwangde and Pumori enclose the park boundary. About 3,500 Sherpa People resides in various settlements within the park boundary. The Sherpa people originated in the eastern Tibetan Province of Kham, some 2,000 kilometers away from the present homeland. The Sherpa people follow the Nying-mapa sect of Tibetan Buddhism. Since 1950s, the region is attracting large number of tourist as climbers and trekkers. The Sherpas are also well known climbers.
Day 01. Kathmandu: Arrival in Kathmandu. Transfer to hotel for check-in. Briefing on the trip. Evening, an introductory sightseeing trip to Downtown Kathmandu.
Day 02. Kathmandu: Full day sightseeing covering all the important sightseeing spots in or around Kathmandu valley.
Day 03. Kathmandu to Phakding via Lukla: After breakfast, transfer to airport for flight (35 to 40 minutes) to Lukla. Lunch will be served at Lukla, then trek (2 to 3 hours) to Phakding camp.
Day 04. Phakding to Namche Bazar: Trek (5 to 6 hours).
Day 05. Rest. Acclimatization:*
Day 06. Namche Bazar to Tyangboche Monastery: Trek (5 to 6 hour).
Day 07. Tyangboche Monastery to Pheriche: Trek (6 to 7 hours).
Day 08. Pheriche to Lobuche: Trek (5 to 6 hours).
Day 09. Lobuche to Gorakshep: Trek (4 to 5 hours).
Day 10. Gorakshep to Lobuche (return) via Kalapathar (5500m): After breakfast, about an hour steep climb to the top of Kalapthar peak to enjoy the view of Mt. Everest at its best. Return to Lobuche camp for overnight accommodation. Option: Everest Basecamp. In order to view Mt. Everest, the Basecamp is not good as Kalapathar peak.
Day 11. Lobuche to Pangboche via Pheriche: Trek (7 to 8 hours).
Day 12. Pangboche to Namche Bazar: Trek (6 to 7 hours).
Day 13. Namche Bazar to Lukla: (7 to 8 hours).
Day 14. Lukla to Kathmandu: By flight. Check in hotel.
Day 15. Kathmandu: Rest, sightseeing and shopping at your own.
Day 16. Kathmandu to Kathmandu airport: After breakfast, transfer to Kathmandu airport for flight to Home.
