Your Itinerary
Night 1: 20h30 – Take a private coach to Hanoi Railway Station and catch the night train to Lao Cai (soft sleeper with air-conditioning).
Day 1: 5h30 - Arrive in Lao Cai. The bus trip to Sapa takes a little more than an hour giving you an idea of the impressive paddy fields panorama. Check into your hotel. Enjoy a lunch of local Vietnamese food. 13h00 - Start trekking to Cat Cat (4-5 km) and visit the Hmong ethnic group walking in the paddy –fields. After that, down into the valley, you can see the old hydro-electric power station building (which was built by the French in 1925). Return to Sapa for a shower and a rest before dinner. Overnight in your hotel.
Day 2: In the morning, start trekking (8 km) down the valley along local paths and across rice paddies to visit Black Hmong and Giay ethnic minorities. Have a picnic lunch along the way. Our jeep picks you up back to Sapa. 18h00 - Bus from hotel in Sapa to Lao Cai (19h00). 9.15pm - Night train back to Hanoi (soft sleeper with air-conditioning).
Day 3: 5am - Trip ends at Hanoi Railway Station.
