“Local Diving: i.e. Barrier Reef off San Pedro, Ambergris Caye”
Daily half day trips to the Barrier Reef, just about 1/4mile from shore at a short 5 to 10 minute boat ride from our dive shop pier will take you to multiple dive sites just beyond the reef crest. Popular dive sites such as Tackle Box Canyons, Esmeralda, Mermaid's Lair, Cypress Gardens and much more are marked by moorings. The specific dive sites for the day are decided on right before we go out, so that divers doing multiple days of local diving do not repeat dive sites; or to accommodate favorite dive sites requested. The sites start off at a 40ft Gorgonian plain, and you gradually descend to avg depths of 60-80ft, into a vivid and thriving marine underworld. Dives are profiled to glide you over and amidst the spur and grove canyon formations, within a terrain of fleshy boulder & pillar coral formations, waving sea fans, sea rods and impressive sponges. Busily scouring about are a variety of colorful fish and the more friendly groupers that come right up to your mask to greet you! Affixing your sight more intently you spot the more elusive marine specie. You are also treated to common sightings of nurse sharks, and surprised by gliding eagle rays and turtles who come out of the deep blue for their grand appearances!
Between 1st and 2nd dive “Surface interval” we come back to dive shop, fresh fruits served. Daily Schedule: 9am for 2 Tank
