Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Departure from your Chiang Mai hotel at 7 am. Travel north by private off road vehicle stopping at a busy local produce market. Continuing up into the hills. The morning segment of the program lets us meet the Elephants and their Mahouts. Taking Elephants down to the river for their morning bath and shower - you may join them!
After being refreshed the serious business of instruction on the ways of the Mahout will be learned and hands -on instruction given. Take a ride on elephant back following forest trails (1.5 hrs) returning to the local elephant camp for lunch. rest and relax by the river. After lunch time travel off road to visit tribal villages and local Thai farming communities With optional activities of hiking, Bamboo rafting and white water rafting.
Late afternoon we will return to our Elephant friends to continue our Mahout Keeper skills and ways of the elephant with a forest walk. Returning the Elephants back to their resting place for the night. Time to learn of local foods and natural medicines used for Elephant health. Travel by road to Chiang Mai. Transfer to your hotel arriving around 7.30pm.
