Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Sofia. Private transfer to the hotel with tour of Sofia. Dinner and check in 5* hotel. Overnight.
Day 2: Breakfast. Visit the National Museum of History in Boyana district as an introductory to the tour in Bulgaria. Afternoon to Rila Monastery UNESCO site. Return to Sofia. Dinner with folklore performance and overnight.
Day 3: Breakfast. Departure to Koprivshtitsa museum town. Tour. Proceed via Beklemeto mountain pass to the small town of Troyan. Tour to the nearby Troyan Monastery – the 3rd largest in Bulgaria and Oreshak exhibit of peoples’ arts and crafts. Demonstration of traditional pottery and weaving or woodcarving. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4: Breakfast. Departure to Arbanassi museum village. Tour. Proceed to Veliko Turnovo – the Mediaeval capital city of Bulgaria located on 4 hills above Yantra river. Visit Tsarevets Royal Hill with the fortress. Walk along Samovodska Charshia – the street of crafts, workshops and antique shops in Veliko Turnovo. If time permits and interested - visit Petropavlovski or Transfiguration Monastery nearby. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Veliko Turnovo.
Day 5: Breakfast. Departure from Veliko Turnovo to Plovdiv. Cross the Central and highest part of the Balkan mountains ( the mountain, which gave its name to the Balkan peninsula ). Short stops en route to Shipka memorial church and Kazanluk – for lunch and visit of Goliama Kosmatka Thracian tomb ( 5th - 3rd c BC ). Early afternoon arrival in Plovdiv. Check in at the hotel. Walking tour of the Old Plovdiv Architectural Reserve. Dinner at Puldin 5* restaurant. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 6: Breakfast. Transfer Plovdiv – Sofia. Free time or continue with the tour of Sofia if time permits. Overnight in Sofia.
Day 7: Breakfast, free time and private transfer to the airport.
