This section passes the historic bridges of Newcastle together with the Baltic centre for contemporary art.
Monday: Heddon on the Wall - Chollerford 15¼ miles
A peaceful section and a nice introduction to the rolling terrain we encounter on route.
Tuesday: Chollerford - Steel Rigg 12 miles
A wonderful day probably the best known section of the trail and ends up in the Twice Brewed Inn, perfect!
Wednesday: Steel Rigg - Walton 16¼ miles
Another stunning section enjoying magnificent views, with the terrain getting easier by the step.
Thursday: Walton - Carlisle 11 miles
An easy day, gentle walking over grassy meadows & leafy tracks.
Friday: Carlisle - Bowness on Solway 14½ miles
A peaceful gentle final section of the trail that ends with us collecting our final "stamp" At Banks, overlooking the Solway estuary, we finally finish at The Kings Arms for a very well earned pint and our award ceremony of certificates and completion badges.
