Day 1, Sunday: Launceston, Hobart, Port Arthur (Included: L)
After leaving Launceston, drive the Heritage Highway through the historic Midland towns of Ross (famous for its carved stone bridge) and Oatlands (with many fine colonial sandstone buildings). Arrive in Hobart and drive to the top of Mt Wellington (1270m) for spectacular views in all directions. After a short drive in the city, head to the Tasman Peninsula to visit Port Arthur Historical Site for a guided walking tour. Enjoy sea breezes on a short harbour cruise more spectacular scenery and views of Eaglehawk Neck from the lookout. Overnight Nubeena/Port Arthur
Day 2, Monday: Port Arthur, East Coast, Bicheno (Included: B, L)
See nature’s wonders – the Blow Hole, Tasman Arch and Devil’s Kitchen before leaving the Tasman Peninsula for the East Coast. Next is Swansea – a beautiful East Coast town. Stop for wine tasting before arriving at Freycinet National Park for a one hour return walk to view famous Wineglass Bay from the Wineglass Bay Lookout. The tour makes a brief stop at Freycinet Marine Farm to replace lost calories (optional!) with a taste of freshly picked oysters and steamed mussels (own expense). Arrive in Bicheno to see the amazing Blow Hole. An evening penguin tour is also available (own expense). Overnight Bicheno
Day 3, Tuesday: Bicheno, St Helens, Launceston (Included: B, L)
Visit a multi-award winning East Coast wildlife park before heading to St Helens to see Peron Sand Dunes with their Sahara-like feel and great coastal views. See the granite-rock coastline of the Bay of Fires and one of Tasmania’s best beaches at Binalong Bay. Drive toward Launceston via Scottsdale. On the way, see magnificent St Columba Falls (90m), carved trees at Legerwood and the beautiful lavender at Bridestowe Lavender Farm (seasonal). Overnight in Launceston
Day 4, Wednesday: Launceston, Devonport, Burnie, Wynyard, Stanley (Included: B, L)
First, a short drive through Launceston city on the way to Cataract Gorge, the jewel of Launceston. Then drive to North West via Devonport and Burnie to Wynyard-Table Cape to see great coastal view from the lighthouse (Tulip Farm-seasonal), Boat Harbour Beach (one of the best beaches in Tassie), Rocky Cape to view unusual formation of rocks and the coastline), then arrive in Stanley, a historic town and spectacular “The Nut”, Highfield Historic Site. Overnight Stanley
Day 5, Thursday: Stanley, Burnie, Cradle Mt (Included: B, L)
Dip Falls and Big Tree, Guide Falls. Continue towards the World Heritage listed Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park and have a short walk. Overnight Cradle Mountain
Day 6, Friday: Cradle Mt, Mole Creek, Launceston (Included: B, L)
Still in the Cradle Mountain Lake St Clair National Park, see famous Dove Lake with Cradle Mountain in the background. Time allows for a walk around the lake. On the way back to Launceston visit Maracoopa Cave near Mole Creek for a guided tour of limestone cave that is millions of years old then stop by Chudleigh Honey Farm for honey tasting and a honey ice-cream (own expense). Tour concludes in Launceston with drop off at the Launceston airport or CBD accommodation.
