14th - 21st Jan 2008 - Intensive Scaravelli Yoga course for regular Scaravelli practicioners.
About This Holiday:
You’ll be staying at the pretty English managed Yoga Gypsy’s, set just back from one of the most unspoilt beaches of North Goa. Asvem beach, near Arambol. Staying in tree huts or cottages. During the first week each day will start with one 3hr yoga workshop, awakening, strengthening and releasing body and mind, leaving the rest of the day free for the beach or exploring the local area. The week is suitable for everyone, from those new to yoga, to those who have practiced for many years. Scaravelli was developed with self- exploration in mind, both physically and on a more esoteric level. There will also be optional excursions to see the dolphins or to go to one of the famous local markets.
Each of the following intensive weeks will involve two daily 3hour workshops (one morning session and one before dusk, during week 2 guests staying on from week 1 will have the option to choose just one workshop each day if they prefer). There will be time dedicated to clarifying structural relationships as well as exploring the role of breath and its effect on posture. Learning to move from the central axis of the spine in harmony with the movements of the breath will provide the foundation of an ever evolving yoga practice dedicated to clarifying perception and improving quality of life.
Whereas week 1 is designed as a combination of a light hearted and relaxing yoga and a beach holiday, weeks 2 and 3 are more intense and have been designed for those wishing to take their yoga to new levels through dedicated practice. However those staying for weeks 1 & 2 are welcome to design their own level of commitment to the program during week 2.
Guests are welcome to book for any duration, accommodation can be maintained between course dates for those staying on to do additional weeks. There is a two day break between each course week, giving guests the chance to travel around the area a little and get the real experience of India!
Accommodation:
Maximum group size is 15 in twin ensuite cottage accommodation, twin tree huts or single/ double beach huts. There are 3 cottages and 3 tree huts at Yoga Gypsy’s all to be shared. Single travelers will be matched with a room mate for the duration of their stay. Beach huts are more basic and a short walk away, they are not part of Yoga gypsy’s, however we do use them for those insisting on single occupancy or those who simply prefer this style of accommodation.
Please note: A preference of cottage or tree hut can be specified, but we cannot promise that you will have the exact choice of room that you requested.
The Yoga platform is open air, shaded and overlooks the beach. There are private tree hut platforms for massage and health treatments such as acupressure, which you can book on arrival or throughout the week.
Food:
Food is mainly vegetarian, however fish is also served occasionally. All food is Indian/ Goan style. Unfortunately due to limited local resources, it is not possible to cater for special dietary requirements or vegans. However if you do have special requirements you will need to bring your own food supplements that can be stored in the kitchen and there will be limited access for you to prepare your own food.
Chai, Indian tea, hot water, herbal teas and a variety of local fruits are available from 7.30am until dinner time. Kettles are also available in the cottages.
