Day 1: Your adventure takes you north into the wine regions of the Clare Valley. On your way, you will travel through historic towns with quaint cottages and historic buildings. At Clare, you have an opportunity to visit one of the unique wineries in this region, before continuing your journey. The legendary lilac haze of the Flinders Ranges, loom ever closer in the distance. You are now in the habitat of Australia's famous wildlife - not only kangaroos and emus live here in abundance, but also many species of unique birds and reptiles. Lunch today is at the oldest pub in the Flinders Ranges, 'The North Star Hotel'. From here, your driver/guide will continue the tour in to the heart of the Flinders Ranges through vast sheep station country. There will an opportunity to stop at one of the Ghost Towns for some stories and photos. Wilpena Pound Resort is your destination tonight, providing access to glorious walking trails and excellent accommodation.

Day 2: Board your aircraft and begin your adventure flight, which will give you a perfect view of Wilpena Pound, the Heysen, ABC, Chase and Elder Ranges to name a few. Your flight takes you over Lake Torrens to the world famous Opal-mining town of Andamooka for a short tour. This town is Opal mining in its rare form. During the interpretive Opal Tour you will be dazzled with color and gain a better understanding the life of an Opal miner and how they get 'hooked'. 'Warning!'... Banksia Adventures take no responsibility if "Opal Fever" has been contracted. Your plane then leaves (with you onboard) for the quirky township of William Creek for lunch and a cold Aussie beer. Don't get to comfortable because it's time again to board your aircraft for the next adventure. Fly over Australia's largest salt lake, Lake Eyre and the Channel Country. Your accommodation tonight is at one of the oldest and most famous outback hotels "The Birdsville Hotel", in western Queensland.

Day 3: Gives you the opportunity to visit the Birdsville Working Museum. Be in awe and amusement of the past, present and future of the Outback. Fly to the township of Innamincka for a true Aussie lunch and maybe a refreshing ale. Visit the famous Burke and Wills Dig Tree, an Australian icon of the early explorers of this unforgiving land. Your flight will then continue over the magnificent Gammon Ranges to your accommodation at Arkaroola Village. Discover native wildlife and walk over some of the oldest landforms on earth. This area is unique.

Day 4: Your 4WD day starts with the famous 'Ridgetop Tour', which will give you some of the most breathtaking views imaginable of rugged peaks towering above outback plains. Cool creeks and mysterious waterholes sparkling within jagged gorges . After a delightful lunch you will travel south through sheep and cattle stations that are in excess of 1000 square miles into the Mt Chambers and Lake Frome area, rich in aboriginal history. Then through more spectacular gorges to the quiet old copper mining town of Blinman the highest town in South Australia and your destination for tonight. Enjoy some gourmet Aussie tucker and maybe a cool beer or two in the classic old pub.

Day 5: Starts the return to civilization. Driving through tree lined gorges to the western edge of the Flinders Ranges, as you travel towards the coast. Your journey takes you past historic ports and into the rich pastoral land near Adelaide. The richness of these surrounds is in stark contrast to the arid lands you have just been into. Your adventure has taken you through the extremes of the Australian Outback.
