For sheer scenic beauty, few parts of Africa can compare with the Eastern Escarpment. Just outside the town of Graskop, is the famed physical feature known as "God's Window", where the 1500 meter-high Escarpment plunges in an almost sheer drop to the Lowveld below, with Mozambique and the Kruger Park in the distance!
The Blyde River Canyon, which is the third largest canyon of its type in the world, with its rust coloured sandstone cliffs and craggy buttresses, soars over the chasm gouged by the waters of the Blyde river. Upstream on the Blyde River are the Bourke's Luck pot-holes, where stones churned by water have carved a filigree of weirdly eroded rocks.
