Do you really know your driving abilities? Driving your own snowmobile on this onve in a lifetime safari will see you traveling approximately 900 km in total, nearly the entire length of Finnish Lapland into Norway until you finally reach the magnificent Norwegian fjords and the Arctic Sea.

You will drive through the varying terrain, through snow-covered forest, across vast frozen lakes and open fell and through snow. Of course you want to experience everything Lapland has to offer so we have included a visit to a reindeer farm with a reindeer sleigh ride, a dip into the Arctic Sea (in specially insulated suits). When you return home you will have the sense of having achieved something very special, memories that will last forever. Imagine the stories you will have to tell your friends and family!

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Wednesday. Arrive at the airport and transfer to your hotel in Sodankyla. You will have the evening to relax, maybe trying the Finnish sauna. Dinner will be served at the Bear Inn Hotel restaurant. You will meet your guide at the hotel. The guide will give you instructions and description of the forthcoming adventure! We suggest an early night in preparation for the week ahead. Overnight - Sodankyla - Finland

Day 2: Thursday. You will begin the day reasonably early. After receiving your equipment you will have an instruction on managing your snowmobile, including the safety aspects. Starting at an easy pace you will soon reach an area of beautiful frozen lakes separated by untouched forest. It is a good way to practice your driving on the varying terrain, long flat stretches on the lakes and more curved changing gradients through the forests. Along the journey you will enjoy lunch at Peurasuvanto village. On this first day we will overnight in Saariselkä area and dinner is served at the accomodation.Overnight - Saariselkä area - Finland

Day 3: Friday. After relaxing breakfast you will drive from Saariselkä to Inari village. You head at an exhilarating faster pace across Lake inari. You really will feel like an interpid arctic adventurer when you are in the middle of the huge Lake Inari surrounded by snow, with the metre thick ice below and seeing nothing but white snow. in Inari you will visit the fascinating Siida museum of Inari where you will learn about the history, culture and lifestyle of the indigenous Lappish people, the Sami. Lunch will be served at the Museum restaurant. After an interesting cultural experience you continue your snowmobiling to the border of Norway! You will be accommodated at riverside cabins in Neiden, Norway. Dinner is provided at the accommodation. Here you will also get a chance to try sauna and open air hot tub or swimming in the icy cold water (northern tradition!) in a hole in an ice spot! Unforgettable! Overnight - Neiden - Norway

Day 4: Saturday. We start this morning along a frozen river towards the fjords and the edge of the Arctic Sea. After snowmobiling you will have a minibus transfer to a traditional North Norway village, Pygoynes. Here you will get on board a fishing boat and start your king crab fishing adventure! In celebration of your achievement, having finally reached the Arctic Sea, we celebrate with a dip into the freezing sea, using fully insulater "survival suits" and of course with a champagne toast! You have won yourself - and reached the Arctic Sea! Lunch, coffee and pastry is served during this whole day program. Yet another amazing adventure! After exciting Arctic Sea adventure you will drive back to Neiden and will have a delicious dinner at the accommodation and possibility to enjoy sauna & open air hot tub or swimming in the frozen water through a hole in the ice! Overnight - Neiden - Norway.

Day 5: Sunday. After enjoyable breakfast you will say warm goodbyes to Norway and continue your adventure... Next stop is on the Russian / Norway / Finnish border! At the beautiful wilderness borderline you will enjoy an open air lunch. Think of telling this story to your friends - almost being in Russia and been in a spot of three states! After this experience you will continue your snowmobiling towards to the unique wilderness Hotel which is situated right on the water-front of Lake Inari. In the peaceful atmosphere you will enjoy your dinner and after that you can go and relax in the sauna. Overnight - Nellim - Finland

Day 6: Monday. Today you continue your driving back to south, driving in Saariselkä fell area and you will climb steadily throughout the morning stopping on the top of the beautiful Kaunispää fell for lunch. Today's snowmobile journey takes you across many lakes, including the largest man made lake in Europe with pretty yellow and red houses dotted on its shores. at different times of the season the sky has beautiful pink hues or it is crystal clear blue offering you unparalleled views of the whole area. In the afternoon / evening you will reach the village of Lokka where a friendly reindeer herder, with the help of a translator, tells you about his work with reindeer. You even have the opportunity to drive a reindeer pulled sleigh, an unforgettable experience! Our reindeer farmer and his wife are hosting a dinner this evening at their home. You will be accommodated in cozy cabins. Overnight - Lokka - Finland

Day 7: Tuesday. On the final day you will drive through a range of fairly easy but inspiring terrain and will have an open fire / picnic lunch on the way back to Sodankylä village.
