Evidence to the stated above might be observed in Nissa, the ancient capital of Parthyan kingdom where manuscripts dating back to the II century B.C. and wall painting of warriors were discovered. In Uzbekistan one can enjoy wonderful structures decorated with mosaic and majolica in Samarkand, Bukhara and Shakhrisabz.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1-2: Ashgabad. Arrival in Ashgabad. Transfer & accommodation in hotel Overnight in htl. City tour with National museum (or Carpet Museum). Drive to countryside for excursion to archaeological site Nissa (20 km) with visit on the way to horse breeding center. Overnight in Ashgabad.
Day 3: Ashgabad. Mary. Drive to Mary (352 km). Arrival & accommodation in hotel. Sightseeing of ancient city Merv.
Day 4: Mary Bukhara. Drive to Bukhara (385 km). Arrival & accommodation in hotel.
Day 5: Bukhara. Whole day SS tour in Bukhara: Citadel Ark, Bolo Khauz mosque, Samanid mausoleum, Chashma Ayub mausoleum. Lyabi-Khauz ensemble (XVI-XVII c.): Madrassah & Khanaka Nadir Divan Begi, Magoki Attori mosque.
Day 6: Bukhara/ Shakhrisabz/ Samarkand Drive to Shakhrisabz (274 km). On arrival SS tour in Shakhrisabz incl. Kok Gumbaz mosque, Gumbazi Seidon mausoleum, ruins of Ak-Sarai Palace, etc. Visits to silk-spinning factory and winery are also offered. Drive to Samarkand (150 km). Transfer to Samarkand (150 km). Arrival and accommodation in htl. O/n in htl. Samarkand. Whole day SS tour incl. Reghistan Square (XV-XVII c.), Ulugbek observatory (XV c.), Afrosiab museum and excavation site, Shakhi-Zinda necropolis.
Day 7: Samarkand. Half day SS tour: Gur-Amir mausoleum, Bibi-Khanym mosque, bazaar. Visit to famous Al-Bukhari moslem memorial complex, (30 km from Samarkand) is also available. Dinner in traditional Tadjik House.
Day 8: Samarkand/ Bukhara a.m.: Transfer to Bukhara (300 km). On the way visit to Nahshbandi dervish complex. On arrival accommodation in hotel. Folklore show in medrese Nodir-Divan Beghi. O/n in Bukhara.
Day 9: Bukhara. Whole day SS tour: Poi Kalon ensemble (XII-XVI c.): Kalon minaret, Miri Arab madrassah, trade cupolas, Chor Minor. Drive to countryside for excursion to Summer residence of Bukhara's Emir (XIX c.) and memorial complex Chor-Bakr.
Day 10: Bukhara/Khiva. Drive to Khiva ( 480 km). Accommodation at small private hotel. Time at leisure. O/n in Khiva.
Day 11: Khiva. Whole day SS of Khiva: Djuma mosque, Kunya-Ark, Pakhlavan Makhmud complex, Islam-Khodja Minaret & madrassah. Lunch or dinner could be arranged as in private Uzbek house as in Summer Palace of Khiva's Khan.
Day 12: Khiva/Tashkent Transfer to Urgench airport (30 km) for flight to Tashkent. Arrival & accommodation in hotel. p.m.: SS tour in Tashkent: Barak Khan & Kukeldash madrassah, bazaar Chorsu, museum of Applied Arts, Independence Square, Alisher Navoi Theatre. Reservation of tickets for performance in the Theatre of Opera & Ballet is also available (except Monday). O/n in Tashkent.
Day 13: Tashkent. Transfer to airport for international flight.
