"The Fairest Cape". After a historical background, given by our tour guide, you will leave Cape Town via Sea Point, the Platinum Mile, and travel along Marine Drive past Clifton and Camps Bay. This part of the tour is overlooked by the 'Twelve Apostles' - twelve buttresses on the reverse side of Table mountain. The road winds between the mountain and sea past Llandudno into Hout Bay where we will stop for a scenic boat ride to visit the seal colony. (This is an optional extra).
The tour continues along Chapman's Peak. This pass has been a favorite site for many advertisements due to the shear grandeur of the exhilarating scenery. We will drive past Noordhoek into Fish Hoek, through Simons Town and Dido Valley where we will stop at the famous 'scratch patch' - a place to literally scratch and choose from mounds of semiprecious stones. The road continues past breathtaking seascapes into the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. Lunch at the Two Oceans Restaurant at Cape Point, (the Cape of Good Hope). Cape Point juts into the sea and divides the Atlantic and Indian ocean like a knife. This particular spot is a favorite destination and attracts more visitors than any other place in the whole of South Africa.
On our return to Cape Town we will visit the Penguin Colony at the Boulders in Simons Town. The Boulders is so named because of the huge rocks that are strewn on the beach and into the water. Our return trip to Cape Town will continue via the famous Groot Constantia Wine Farm for wine tasting - time permitting. The historical farm dates back to 1685 - favorite amongst noble palates The 'great' Napoleon ordered his wine from here. We end the journey back at Cape Town via Rhodes Drive.
