Iceland is a hot spot of geothermal activity. Thirty post-glacial volcanoes have erupted in the past two centuries, and natural hot water supplies much of the population with cheap, pollution-free heating. Rivers, too, are harnessed to provide inexpensive hydroelectric power. Iceland's population numbers just over a quarter of a million, half living in the capital, Reykjavik, and its neighboring towns in the southwest. Keflavik International Airport is located about 50km from the capital. The highland interior is uninhabited (and uninhabitable), and most of the population is situated along the coast.

Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Reykjavik
On arrival, we transfer you to your hotel. You spend the rest of the day in discovering Reykjavik at your own.
Day 2: Reykjavik sightseeing
After breakfast, we begin the tour by visiting The Blue Lagoon for a relaxing bath. The Blue Lagoon, best described as a geothermal beach, is simply heaven. It is comprised of a sandy bottom, lovely milky-blue-green water and silica mud. In addition to bathing in the lagoon, guests can relax in a lava cave or a unique geothermal steam bath. The Blue Lagoon’s warm water and natural active ingredients such as various salts, silica and blue green algae help you heal and escape the stress and strain of daily life. Stay in Reykjavik.
Day 3: Snaefellsnes glacier and Arnarstapi
After breakfast, we travel to Snæfellsnes peninsula a unique area only about two hours’ drive from the capital. It is located on the west side of Iceland and offers many recreational activities. We drive to Olafsvik village and view the mystical Snæfellsjokull glacier on the way. Next we visit Arnarstapi with its extraordinary shores and scenery. There is a well-sheltered and small natural harbour and the surrounding area is excellent during the summer months for camping. We retire for the day in a cozy hotel in Snæfellsnes.
Day 4: Back to Reykjavik and transfer
After breakfast we transfer you to Reykjavik and to your onward destination.
