Tour Description:
We leave Quito at 07.30 (hotel pick up can be arranged) and go south on the Pan-American Highway. After 1 ½ hour we reach the entrance of the national park Cotopaxi (admission fee $10) known as the highest active volcano in the world.
After a visit to a small museum and a lake we reach the parking lot at 4500 mts. or 14000 feet after a snack we give everyone a chance to hike up to the refuge at 4800 mts. or 15000 feet, the same altitude as the Mont Blanc in Europe when back we provide everyone with a helmet knee and elbow pads and gloves, also a mountain bike with front suspension and we start the 35 km. or about 25 miles through the park, somewhere we on the ride we provide a homemade lunch, at the end of the ride we return to Quito were we arrive around 16.30.
